Chapter 12

The planet shook.

Lin Fan's voice had not been a mere sound.

It had been a force.

A shockwave so powerful that it ripped through the atmosphere, causing the very oceans to collapse inward. The sea, which covered more than half of the Dark Quadrant's capital, was momentarily flattened, forming a colossal bowl-like depression hundreds of meters deep.

Then—

Boom.

Water rushed back from all directions, colliding with itself in a titanic explosion, sending a column of seawater thousands of meters high into the sky.

Entire coastlines were swallowed by the aftermath. Cities along the shore were drowned in tsunamis, their defenses useless against something they had no way of preparing for.

When the battle was over, historians would name this event:

"The Voice of the End."

It was later calculated that if Lin Fan had let out just five more roars of equal magnitude, the entire planet would have shattered.

But Lin Fan wasn't here to destroy a world.

He was here for one thing.

Corvus Glaive.

---

The palace rumbled as the planet's automated defenses finally reacted.

A shimmering barrier of energy enveloped the capital, cutting it off from the outside world.

But in doing so, they had only trapped themselves inside with him.

Corvus Glaive's heartbeat was steady.

He was not a fool.

He knew exactly what was coming.

In the depths of his throne room, the moment the vibrations from Lin Fan's arrival shook the palace, Corvus rose to his feet.

"All forces, prepare for battle," he ordered.

The command was unnecessary.

Thousands of Chitauri soldiers and Vanguard warriors were already in position, weapons drawn, waiting for the inevitable confrontation.

Proxima Midnight stood beside him, spear at the ready, her golden eyes burning with fierce determination.

Supergiant was further back, her expression tense. Even she, with all her psychic abilities, could not predict the outcome of this battle.

Corvus adjusted his grip on his glaive.

Then, before he could issue another command—

Boom.

Lin Fan arrived.

His golden armor gleamed in the artificial light, his form untouched by the chaos behind him. He floated a thousand meters above the palace, arms crossed, his gaze piercing through the halls as if he could see Corvus directly.

He could.

"Found you."

---

There was no subtlety.

No hesitation.

Lin Fan descended.

A streak of gold and pink shot downward like a falling star, crashing into the throne room with a force that shattered the entire upper structure of the palace.

Debris exploded in all directions.

Smoke and dust filled the air.

Corvus reacted immediately, his glaive raised in defense.

Too slow.

Lin Fan was already there.

A single fist drove forward, piercing through Corvus' chest with terrifying ease.

Shhk.

Black blood spilled from Corvus' lips. His vision blurred, his fingers tightening around his weapon as his body failed him.

The world was silent.

For a second.

Then—

Corvus Glaive grinned.

A dark energy flashed through his body.

His form shifted, flickered—reversed.

The wound healed instantly.

Lin Fan's eyes narrowed slightly.

Corvus stepped back, completely unharmed.

"You can't kill me."

His voice was filled with mocking amusement.

Lin Fan said nothing.

Instead, he grabbed Corvus by the throat.

And tore him in half.

Shhhkkk—

Corvus' body split apart, ripped as easily as a piece of paper.

His two halves fell to the ground.

For a moment, the room was deathly quiet.

Then—

The pieces reformed.

Corvus stood once more, whole, untouched, his expression a mix of defiance and satisfaction.

"No matter how many times you kill me," he said, "you can't do it. I am truly immortal. No one in this universe can end me."

Lin Fan stared at him.

Then, he spoke—his voice quieter this time.

"If you can't be killed…"

A faint glow flickered at his fingertips.

"Then you'll just have to be eaten."

For the first time, Corvus Glaive hesitated.

A feeling crept up his spine.

Something worse than fear.

Then he saw it.

A black energy forming in Lin Fan's hand—pulsing, shifting, a force that Corvus had never encountered before.

And then—

Lin Fan fired.
