Slaying a god!
This has always been the ultimate goal in the hearts of ambitious warriors!
Be it Cao Cao or Vali, these battle-hungry men full of ambition all yearn to do one thing above all else—slay a god. It seems only by doing so can they validate their path as true warriors.
It can't be helped—gods are the most powerful and highest-ranking beings known to all. Even Ophis is a Dragon God, born with overwhelming power, always standing far above others.
The gods who take part in battle are generally among the strongest in the world, easily able to crush those at the level of a Maou. Even a Longinus only allows one to temporarily match a god or Maou under limited conditions. Even Vali, when activating Juggernaut Drive, could only possess god-tier power for a few minutes—and that came at a cost: the risk of losing control and sacrificing his own lifespan.
The chief gods and god-kings of the various mythologies are essentially the top-tier powers of the world, beings who rank among the top ten across the globe. Since ancient times, they have ruled over their respective mythological factions, and even humans have worshipped and believed in them, seeing them as everything.
So for those who seek to challenge the strong, for those who wish to defy the existing world and its systems, gods are the final obstacle that stands in their way—a chasm they must cross.
There's nothing more powerful a statement of strength than slaying a god.
Nothing shakes the world or stirs the hearts of people more than the act of godslaying.
Anyone who wants to change anything, anyone dissatisfied with the current state of the world, will inevitably set their sights on the gods.
Cao Cao was one of these people.
However, throughout countless years of history, gods have always existed—and they have always been the same beings. Never has anyone been pulled down from the divine pedestal, and no god has ever been slain.
Those with the capability of killing gods are either treated as taboos—rejected, sealed, or restrained—or they're genuine disasters. Once they act, it always leads to world-ending events akin to Ragnarok, bringing about apocalyptic destruction.
And as for humans?
No human has ever succeeded in slaying a god!
But now, Kaiser was telling Cao Cao that the spear in his hand possessed the power to slay gods!
How could Cao Cao not be shocked?
How could he not be tempted?
In fact, not just Cao Cao—even Azazel and the others were shocked upon seeing Kaiser's Balance Breaker and learning of the effects of his God-slaying power.
Longinus are said to possess power rivaling that of gods or Maou, but that's all—rival. To actually slay or destroy a god? That's another matter entirely.
At the very least, throughout history, no one has ever managed to develop a Longinus to such a level—not even among the previous wielders of the True Longinus.
But Kaiser had done it!
"This spear has always carried the legend of killing the Son of God. It's known as the absolute spear that can pierce a god. That alone proves it holds such potential."
Kaiser stepped in front of Cao Cao, ignoring the way he stared intently at the crimson spear in his hand. Looking down upon him, he spoke slowly.
"You regarded it as your Holy Spear's rival because you, too, wanted the power to slay gods, didn't you?"
"If you could prove your spear is not inferior to this one, then your spear would also hold the possibility of defeating a god, right?"
"But unfortunately, as things stand now, your Holy Spear of Dawn still falls quite short."
At those words, Cao Cao reacted strongly.
"No! My spear can still—"
He seemed desperate to prove something, gripping the Holy Spear of Dawn tightly, causing the halo behind him to light up.
Aside from the destroyed Parinayakaratana, the remaining six Treasures all began to rise into the air.
Seeing this, Kaiser slowly raised his Holy Spear.
"Refuse to accept it?"
"No matter—then let me show you the true power of this spear."
"A power your Holy Spear will never possess."
As he spoke, Kaiser began to chant in a low voice.
"O spear! True Holy Spear that pierces even the divine!"
The incantation was like a sacred hymn—holy and solemn.
"Draw upon the ideal of dominion slumbering within me, and open the rift between blessing and destruction."
"Thou who declare the legacy—become radiance!"
As Kaiser chanted these words, the tip of the crimson Holy Spear in his hand quietly unfolded—suddenly blooming to its fullest extent.
An immense radiance erupted forth, and a vast, holy aura surged outward.
"Truth Idea!"
Kaiser awakened the miracle dwelling within the Holy Spear, unleashing wave after wave of sacred aura, which quickly enveloped the entire world.
"Vmmm…"
The flowing light surged like a tide, swallowing up Cao Cao, his spear, and the six black spheres.
In the next moment, a miracle occurred.
Cao Cao's divine halo abruptly vanished. The six Treasures that had flown out disappeared as well. Even the Holy Spear of Dawn in his hand seemed to fall into slumber—its glow extinguished, and the once radiant spearhead dimmed as though it were merely solidified light.
"What?"
Cao Cao's expression turned to utter shock—there was even a trace of panic.
"What's going on? Why is the Holy Spear...?!"
He could feel it—the Holy Spear of Dawn had become like an ordinary weapon, reduced to worthless scrap metal. He couldn't sense a shred of power from it.
"What did you do?!"
Cao Cao snapped his gaze toward Kaiser and demanded an answer.
"You're always thorough with your intel—don't tell me you really don't know what I did?" Kaiser replied with a half-smile. "You should know what resides in this spear."
"God's Will…" Cao Cao muttered, his expression shifting. "That was... the Truth Idea from the legends?"
"That's right," Kaiser said calmly. "That was Truth Idea—the True Longinus' true power. Once activated, the God's Will residing in the spear draws upon the wielder's ambition and manifests a different power depending on the opponent and the situation."
"The Truth Idea I just activated seemed to trigger a sealing effect that temporarily sealed your spear."
"You can no longer rely on its power—because it lost to Truth Idea."
"So? Even now, will you still claim your spear won't lose?"
At these words, Cao Cao fell into a daze.
The evidence was right before him—his spear had been sealed by Kaiser's spear, rendered completely unusable.
Forget the Balance Breaker—even the spear's basic abilities were now beyond his reach.
Holding the Holy Spear of Dawn in its current state really was no different from holding a hunk of scrap metal.
If he still wanted to fight, he would now have to rely solely on his body to battle Kaiser.
…But how?
"So, from the beginning, I never had a chance to defeat you, huh?"
Cao Cao muttered to himself, unable to accept the reality.
That Kaiser could activate a Balance Breaker didn't surprise Cao Cao—he had always prepared for that possibility. But he had believed his Seven Treasures wouldn't lose to Kaiser's unknown Balance Breaker, or at the very least, not to the original Balance Breaker of the True Longinus.
Cao Cao had always known of Truth Idea's existence. After all, the power of "Truth" wasn't a secret—neither was the Truth Idea of the Holy Spear.
But Truth Idea was unstable, and its effects were enigmatic. Its power came with enormous risk. Once activated, its effects might not match the wielder's intent. Worse, it could even aid the enemy, leading to catastrophic results.
"Truth" was an extremely dangerous power. Cao Cao never believed Kaiser would be able to use it so freely.
So although he was cautious and on guard, he never saw it as a trump card that could decide the outcome of the battle—at most, he thought it would merely introduce an unpredictable variable.
But only now did Cao Cao realize—his thinking was wrong. Completely wrong.
Kaiser's Balance Breaker possessed power beyond his expectations—enough to slay gods!
Kaiser's Truth Idea also held the power to determine the final outcome—enough to overturn everything!
Seeing how casually Kaiser had activated Truth Idea, even if Cao Cao used his toes to think, he could guess: the other party wasn't disregarding the risks of Truth Idea. He must have some method to control its power to a certain extent!
Besides, according to intel from the Fallen Angels' defectors, the current White Dragon Emperor seemed capable of using Juggernaut Drive freely for several minutes under certain conditions. If he could do that, why wouldn't Kaiser—who had even developed a god-slaying Balance Breaker—be capable of this?
At this moment, Cao Cao felt the same shock and devastation that Vali once had.
When faced with Kaiser's Balance Breaker, he had still been able to comfort himself, telling himself he could still find a way to win, a way to surpass it.
But upon learning that an even deeper power existed beyond that Balance Breaker, and that he hadn't even defeated the Balance Breaker itself—had in fact been effortlessly overwhelmed—there was no way he could avoid being shaken.
And this was without knowing that Kaiser had already obtained another Longinus.
If he knew that, he might truly fall into despair.
As he looked at the now hopeless Cao Cao, Kaiser lost interest in continuing to strike him down.
"Vmmm…"
The crimson spear returned to its original form. The God-slaying power receded, transforming back into holy power—as though nothing had ever happened.
Kaiser deactivated the Balance Breaker, stowed away the Holy Spear, and turned his back toward Cao Cao to leave.
"Why… aren't you on our side?"
Faintly, Kaiser seemed to hear a voice from behind.
But he didn't respond—he simply continued walking away.
"Cao Cao!"
"Cao Cao!"
From afar, voices could be heard calling out his name as people rushed toward him.
Kaiser paid them no mind and walked away without looking back.
From this moment on, the Hero Faction and Kaiser had irreversibly parted ways.
Kaiser was no longer a member of the Hero Faction. Just as he had envisioned, he had become an existence independent of any faction.
