The Missing Squad 9

Kaito Yotsuki's POV (continued)

Kaito couldn't help but let out a low, amused chuckle. Silver Blade, he thought to himself. It had been some time since he'd seen that name in the underground bounty circuit. He'd heard whispers of a skilled Anbu operative with that moniker—the rumors of an elite killer, someone who'd taken down entire squads and earned his place in the bingo book. The price on his head was high, and with every move, Kaito could feel that he was facing a dangerous and worthy adversary.

The moment Silver's form flickered with the unmistakable pattern of a body flicker, Kaito grinned. He recognized the technique. He's fast, alright, Kaito thought, but there was no way he could outrun this. He could already feel the electric pulse in his veins, the surge of power as he readied himself to unleash another strike.

With a loud crackle, Kaito hurled a bolt of lightning straight at Silver, aiming for his chest. The electric arc cut through the air with deadly precision, but Silver was already moving. His body flickered out of existence, only to reappear several meters away, the afterimage of his body lingering in the air for a split second.

The Lightning Body Flicker.

Kaito cursed under his breath. Silver was quick, and it was clear he had a solid grasp on his jutsu. But Kaito wasn't about to back down. The ground around him crackled as he clenched his fist, gathering more chakra, ready to unleash a barrage of lightning-fast attacks. He wasn't just going to play this game; he was going to finish it.

"Silver Blade, huh?" Kaito taunted, his voice dripping with mockery as he summoned a wave of lightning chakra. "I've heard about you. Can't say I expected to meet you out here in the middle of nowhere. But then again, I guess that's the way you work, huh? Taking down squads without even breaking a sweat?"

Silver's eyes narrowed, but he didn't flinch. Instead, the Anbu flickered again, this time using the Chidori Style, his hand crackling with violent electricity as it pierced the air toward Kaito's chest.

Kaito's smile widened. So he's going to play it this way, huh? He twisted his body, ducking just in time to avoid the thrust of Silver's lightning-charged hand, feeling the air buzz with the force of it. He countered with his own strike, throwing out another flash of lightning from his fingers to cut through the space between them.

Silver was fast, faster than Kaito had anticipated. His body flickered in and out of the fight, using his Chidori Style attacks to keep Kaito on his toes, but Kaito wasn't just relying on his speed. He was tapping into the full potential of his Lightning Chakra Mode, and the pure speed and power behind his jutsus were almost unstoppable.

Another bolt of lightning erupted from Kaito's palm, cutting through the distance. Silver narrowly dodged, but Kaito was ready. As Silver landed, Kaito was already in motion, closing the gap with his lightning-charged speed, aiming to take him out with a quick strike.

"You're good, kid," Kaito called out, his voice filled with a mix of admiration and dark amusement. "But you're gonna need more than that if you want to survive me."

Silver didn't respond. He was focused, calculating. Kaito could see the sharpness in his eyes as the Anbu flickered once more, closing in with lightning speed to meet him head-on.

Kaito grinned wider, thrilled at the chase. He was already preparing another lightning-based attack to finish this—if Silver didn't find a way out. He'd fought powerful opponents before, but something about Silver was different. He was a real threat.

The game was getting more interesting with every passing second.
