The Revelation of the Nine Yin Manual

The next day, when Amelia.Rothschild appeared before Elliott with a cheerful smile, holding The Nine Yin Manual, Elliott was overwhelmed with gratitude. The Nine Yin Manual—a martial arts treasure coveted by countless souls!

Yet, Elliott himself had no means to cultivate it, for he was blind. Amelia.Rothschild, upon realizing his condition, felt a strange mix of emotions. Still, for the sake of her cousin, she decided to proceed. Her mother seemed to favor Elliott even more than her own son, so she resolved to ensure he remained weaker. Thus, she began reading the contents of the manual aloud to him.

As Elliott listened, his mind drifted back to the moment of his death, waves of bitter sorrow crashing against his heart. Soon, he felt a strange energy gathering within his body, coursing through his meridians, purifying his spirit again and again...

Elliott now sensed the energy flowing within him—he had entered a meditative trance. Even Amelia.Rothschild, standing beside him, was stunned. The book she had thought insignificant had propelled Elliott into deep cultivation in an instant.

Regret gnawed at her. Had she brought the wrong book? Yet, she still hoped Elliott would fail.

Perhaps it was mere coincidence. Elliott soon encountered a blockage—a stubborn barrier within his body. A true martial artist had to unblock the Ren and Du meridians to ascend to the ranks of first-class masters.

Now, Elliott faced a dilemma. He had followed the teachings Amelia.Rothschild recited, and when he first felt the surge of Qi within him, it was euphoric. Lost in this newfound sensation, he observed the energy's path—until it was halted near the Ren and Du meridians.

Thick, impenetrable barriers encased these acupoints, preventing his Qi from advancing. Determined, he resolved to break through, to shatter these obstructions and force open the meridians. Now, he prepared for the final push.

Amelia.Rothschild propped her chin on her hands, fighting drowsiness. The boy named Elliott still hadn't awakened. She had feared her mother's reprimand, but after a glance at Elliott, her mother had merely smiled, patted her head, and left without a word.

The look in her mother's eyes told her—Elliott was truly cultivating. Could this book actually be a genuine secret manual?

Amelia.Rothschild glanced at The Nine Yin Manual on the table, then at the still-meditating Elliott. With a frustrated huff, she snatched the book and hurled it at him.

Thud!

Elliott spat blood and collapsed onto the bed. Amelia.Rothschild gasped in horror. "Mother!" she shrieked.

Scarlett Rothschild tucked Elliott's hand back under the blanket and turned to Amelia.Rothschild. "You needn't come anymore," she said calmly. "I'll read to him myself. Go rest."

Amelia.Rothschild, now remorseful, nodded meekly. "Mother… is he alright?"

Scarlett Rothschild smiled. "He's fine. The stagnant blood in his body has been expelled. This manual you gave him is quite effective. Now, go."

Amelia.Rothschild was stunned. She had expected Elliott to die—yet he had already achieved the Lesser Realization. A pang of discomfort twisted inside her. "Mother," she said after a pause, "let me reorganize the manual before giving it back. The pages are scattered."

Scarlett Rothschild glanced at the damaged book and nodded. Amelia.Rothschild gathered the pages and left.
