Years had passed, and life had changed in ways I never could have imagined.
But she was still here.
And now, so were they.
"Appa, hurry up!" a tiny voice whined, snapping me out of my thoughts.
I turned to see my daughter, Seorin, standing near the door, pouting with her arms crossed. Her pink backpack was slightly tilted to one side, and she was already impatient.
Beside her, her twin sister, Serin, sighed dramatically. "You're too slow, Appa. We'll be late for school!"
I chuckled, kneeling in front of them. "Who told you two to grow up so fast, huh?"
The twins giggled, their matching dimples flashing—the same dimples Sera had.
Every day, I looked at them and saw her.
"Taesan," Sera's voice called from behind me. "Stop teasing them. We really will be late."
I turned to see my wife walking toward us, her hair tied loosely in a ponytail, looking effortlessly beautiful even in the morning rush. She had that familiar warmth in her eyes that made my heart race—even after all these years.
She knelt beside me, fixing Serin's hair clip, then pressed a soft kiss on her forehead.
"You two will be fine, okay?" she said gently. "Just have fun and be nice to everyone."
The twins nodded eagerly. "Okay, eomma!"
I ruffled Seorin's hair. "And if anyone bothers you, what do you do?"
Seorin raised her tiny fist. "Punch them!"
Sera gasped. "No!"
I laughed, shaking my head. "Just kidding, just kidding."
Sera shot me a glare before turning back to the girls. "Just tell the teacher, okay? No punching."
Seorin and Serin pouted. "Okay…"
Sera sighed, then stood up, shaking her head at me. "You are a bad influence."
I smirked, wrapping an arm around her waist and pulling her close. "You married me anyway."
She rolled her eyes, but her smile gave her away.
The school bus honked in the distance, and the girls gasped.
"It's here!" they squealed, hugging both of us quickly before running toward the bus.
Sera and I stood together, watching as our daughters climbed in, waving excitedly from the window.
And then, just like that—
They were gone.
Sera let out a small sigh, leaning against me. "They're really growing up."
I kissed the top of her head. "Yeah… they are."
She tilted her head to look at me. "Are you crying?"
I scoffed. "No."
She smirked. "You totally are."
I sighed, wrapping both arms around her. "So what if I am?"
She chuckled softly, resting her head against my chest. "I still can't believe this is real sometimes."
I held her tighter. "It is. And it always will be."
Because no matter how much time passed—
No matter how much had changed—
One thing would always remain the same.
I loved her.
And I always would.
