Chapter 16 ..The Weapons Room

The door swung open with a loud creak, and two guards stepped inside.

"Come with us," one of them ordered.

Zhao Rui and Liang Chen exchanged a quick glance.

Zhao Rui (whispering): "I don't know if I should be excited or terrified."

Liang Chen: "If they take us to a dinner table, excited. If they take us to a basement… terrified."

Zhao Rui: "Great. That clears nothing up."

The guards grabbed their arms and shoved them forward. As they walked down the dimly lit hallway, Zhao Rui leaned toward Liang Chen.

Zhao Rui: "Whispering I swear, if we survive this, I'm taking a two-week nap."

Liang Chen: "Also whispering If we survive this, I'll let you sleep as much as you want."

Zhao Rui smirked. "Wow. You do love me."

Liang Chen rolled his eyes. "Shut up."

Shen Wei's Secret Room

The guards pushed them through a thick steel door, and when they stepped inside…

Their breath hitched.

The entire room was lined with weapons—guns, bombs, grenades, knives, sniper rifles, and even rocket launchers.

Zhao Rui blinked. "…Well. This is comforting."

Shen Wei stood in the center of the room, inspecting a sleek black pistol. He turned to them with a cold smirk.

"Take my picture," he ordZhao Rui hesitated. "Uh… are we talking about normal photography, or is this one of those 'take my picture before I kill you' situations?"

Shen Wei chuckled. "You ask too many questions."

Zhao Rui forced a smile. "It's a personality trait!"

Liang Chen nudged him hard, making him shut up. Then, he pulled out the camera and started taking quick, precise shots.

As they worked, Shen Wei continued talking.

"This," he gestured around the room, "is my collection. Every weapon here can destroy a city."

Zhao Rui froze mid-click. "Oh. Fun."

Liang Chen, while keeping a calm face, slowly unzipped the camera bag and carefully slid a small, compact bomb inside.

His heart pounded, but no one noticed.
