Although such combat power was far beyond what an ordinary Soul King should possess, without Bibi Dong, the girl alone would not have been able to achieve victory.
The seven members of the Po Yi clan had perished tragically, yet the scene remained eerily calm. No one from the Haotian Sect or the Po Yi clan reappeared. Only the staff of Douhun Mountain arrived to clear the bodies. Meanwhile, the young woman on the floating platform officially announced the results of the match.
As the arena was cleared, Lin Fan activated his Sky Eye to scan the remaining corpses. The sight that met his gaze was so horrifying that he quickly deactivated his ability, a shudder running down his spine. How could a human being do something like this? And even more unsettling—how could a young girl be capable of such brutality?
Thinking back to before the battle, the girl with the violet eyes had seemed to sense his third eye. Her eerie smile had nearly made his blood run cold.
Through his Sky Eye, Lin Fan had seen her smile—unnaturally wide, as if a ghost were grinning directly into a surveillance camera. Her pupils had turned a deep, pure purple, completely devoid of whites. The chilling image reminded him of watching a horror movie back on Earth—only worse. Far more terrifying than Sadako.
After the seven Spirit Hall members swiftly exited, the Haotian Team also returned to their lounge. That night, Lin Fan finally broke through his last bottleneck and reached level 35.
As dawn approached, his excitement over leveling up was overshadowed by the gravity of the situation. The finals were today.
A single lottery draw had been awarded to him, but he refrained from using it. This battle was too dangerous. More than just Bibi Dong stood in his way—there were two other mysterious girls, along with several Soul Kings whose strengths remained unknown. Any one of them could be out for his life.
That lottery draw might be his only hope for survival.
Lin Fan understood that in this final battle, his and Tang Huoer's performance would determine not only their own fate but that of their entire team. He had to survive—and protect Tang Huoer. She was the strongest fighter among them. If she fell, their entire team could be doomed.
At first light, Tang Huoer summoned the Haotian Team to prepare for battle in the lounge hall.
When Lin Fan arrived, he saw that Tang Hao, Tang Xiao, several elders, Tang Yiran, and all Haotian Team members were already present. The atmosphere was heavy.
This was not just a competition. It was a life-or-death battle.
If the Spirit Hall Team wiped out the Haotian Team, there would be no consequences. But if the Haotian Team destroyed the Spirit Hall Team, the repercussions could be catastrophic.
The Spirit Hall held the upper hand. They had the Ultimate Douluo, Qian Daoliu. The only reason he had not yet moved against the Haotian Sect was his promise to Tang Chen. But if the Haotian Sect struck first, that promise would be void.
Only the high-ranking figures present—and Lin Fan, the time traveler—understood this looming threat. The other Haotian Team members remained unaware.
After hours of discussion, Tang Huoer finalized the strategy. She turned to Lin Fan, Shui Yue'er, Liu Erlong, and the others, issuing her orders:
"I will focus on dealing with Bibi Dong. However, I can use my Wheel of Destruction to support you when needed. Lin Fan, you and Erlong will take on the two mysterious girls."
"Tang Jianfeng, your priority is to protect Ye Keke and Tang Jingyu. With their support, we should be able to hold off the other three Soul Kings."
"Shui Yue'er will take an aerial assault position. She is already at level 48, and with her Ice Phoenix Martial Spirit, her strength is comparable to a Soul King of the Spirit Hall. Her control and group attacks will be crucial."
After she finished speaking, Lin Fan, Liu Erlong, Shui Yue'er, Ye Keke, Tang Jingyu, and Tang Jianfeng all nodded in agreement.
At exactly noon, as the bell atop Douhun Mountain tolled, the seven members of the Haotian Team stepped onto the arena square.
The final arena was vastly different from the semi-finals. Constructed entirely of gold and some of the hardest metals, its gleaming surface reflected the sunlight. It was also much larger than the semi-final arena.
This was the final battle. The higher the stakes, the greater the risk.
Standing at the center, Lin Fan quickly assessed the situation. Even if he used two displacement techniques, he would not be able to escape to the edge of the arena. This meant that forcing an opponent out of the ring was nearly impossible. The only way to win was to render the enemy completely incapacitated—or kill them.
"It's going to be difficult for Erlong and me to handle those two strange girls," Lin Fan thought. "If necessary, I'll have to bring Daji and Luna into the fight as well. A four-on-two matchup might give us a chance."
Just then, the young woman on the floating platform picked up her microphone and announced in an excited voice:
"The time has come! The final battle of Douhun Mountain—Spirit Hall versus Haotian Sect—officially begins! Warriors of both sides, step onto the golden stage!"
And so, the battle for survival began.
