After completing all the formalities at the hospital, she took the time to chat with the nurse about her family before heading out to meet Melda. Upon seeing her, Melda couldn't help but make a remark.
"You're late!" exclaimed Melda, arms crossed and a teasing smile on her face.
"Sorry, I took a moment to see someone," Elsa replied with a contrite look.
"Who?" Melda asked, curious.
"A nurse at the hospital! He was really handsome. I almost jumped on him!" Elsa exclaimed, a mischievous glint in her eyes.
Melda burst out laughing. "Very funny! Is that appropriate for a married woman?" she said with a smile.
"I'm married, but not committed! I signed a contract, not a marriage certificate," Elsa retorted with a shrug. "But hey, let's go find an apartment for my dearest friend!" said Elsa, her eyes sparkling with excitement. Her enthusiasm was contagious. She was already imagining all the evenings spent over drinks, chatting about everything and nothing in this new space.
Melda, arms crossed and an amused smile on her lips, replied with a hint of sarcasm: "Stop acting like we're going on an adventure!" She knew Elsa had a tendency to embellish things, but she couldn't help but appreciate her energy.
"But it's a good idea! We can plan for next time!" insisted Elsa, full of optimism. She was already dreaming of the decorations, colors, and laughter that would resonate in that apartment.
Melda shook her head with a knowing smile. "You're really crazy." But deep down, she knew that this craziness was what made their friendship so special. Together, they were ready to face any challenge, even finding the perfect apartment for their friend.
The next morning, Elie and Elsa were already ready for their honeymoon trip.
"Are you ready?" Elie asked as he adjusted his wheelchair.
"Yes, I think I have everything! Need help getting pushed?" she offered enthusiastically.
"No thanks!" he replied determinedly.
Elsa shook her head with a smile. "Always playing the proud one!" Then she got into the car.
The journey began once they were settled in. After a few minutes of driving, they finally arrived at their destination.
The driver announced: "Sir, we have arrived!"
They got out of the car while some servants helped Elie get out by carrying his wheelchair.
"Wow! A five-star hotel? This is the first time I've stepped into a place like this! I already love everything!" exclaimed Elsa in awe.
Elie explained to her: "Gilbert told me he booked two separate rooms here."
Elsa sighed in relief. "Phew! I thought we were going to stay in the same room like in the movies."
Elie nodded. "Let's go ask for our room at the reception to find out…" Just then, his phone started ringing. "Wait, I have a call!"
"Okay!" replied Elsa, waiting patiently.
"Wait for me inside the hotel!" he called out before answering the phone.
Elsa entered the majestic lobby. "I think it's this way!" she thought as she moved forward. Suddenly, she was bumped into by someone and dropped a few things.
"Oh, sorry!" the person apologized while bending down to help.
"It's nothing!" said Elsa, distractedly picking up her things.
That's when she heard a phrase that sent chills down her spine: "Elie SEO? Who would have thought that my friend here in front of me had refused to marry such a man?"
Surprised, Elsa turned abruptly after hearing her husband's name.
