The Darkest Night
It started with a tremor—a deep, rumbling shake that spread through the entire city. People stopped what they were doing. Shopkeepers paused mid-sale, blacksmiths froze with their hammers raised, and children playing in the streets looked around in confusion.
Then came the second tremor. Stronger. More violent.
By the third, the city's defenses kicked in. Alarm bells rang loudly, warning everyone of danger. Soldiers ran to their positions, civilians rushed to their homes, and the Hunter Association sent scouts to find the source of the disturbance.
Then—the walls cracked.
The Breach: The 50-Foot Dragons Enter
A massive section of Hetlyl's underground wall, believed to be indestructible, suddenly collapsed. Dust and debris filled the air, and from the opening came three gigantic 50-foot Hollow Dragons—beasts far more powerful than any seen before.
Their glowing red eyes, thick steel-like scales, and razor-sharp claws made them even more terrifying. But these weren't ordinary dragons. They were trained. Intelligent. Deadly.
The first dragon roared, shaking the city like an earthquake. And then, chaos began.
The Attack Begins
The dragons moved with terrifying precision.
The first dragon attacked the residential district, breathing fire and crushing homes beneath its massive body. People screamed, running in every direction, but many were trapped as underground tunnels collapsed.
The second dragon went straight for the military barracks, destroying rows of soldiers like they were nothing. Ballista bolts and arrows were useless against its thick scales.
The third dragon targeted the city's heart—where the government buildings and food supplies were stored. It knew exactly what to destroy to bring Hetlyl to its knees.
The City's Despair
A mother clutched her child, running for safety, only to stop as a giant claw slammed down in front of her. She turned in horror, staring up at the dragon's blood-soaked fangs.
A soldier raised his spear and charged, only to be crushed in an instant—his body reduced to nothing but a smear of blood on the ground.
A young girl hid under the rubble, her small hands over her mouth to stay quiet. She could only watch as her parents were burned alive by dragonfire.
The Hunters Arrive Too Late
By the time the Hunter Association arrived, the city was already in ruins. Fires raged, and thousands lay dead. But there was no time to grieve—the hunters had to fight.
Rayal, Elric, and Akira led the attack.
Rayal jumped onto the first dragon's back, stabbing his sword into its scales. But the dragon thrashed wildly, sending him flying into a crumbling building. He barely got up before the dragon turned to attack again.
Elric's squad worked together to fight the second dragon. They managed to blind one of its eyes, but the dragon retaliated, swinging its tail and sending half the team crashing into a wall.
Akira took on the third dragon alone, dodging its flames and landing a strong hit on its neck. But to his horror, the wound healed instantly. "They're regenerating…!" he realized.
The Cost of the Battle: 6,000 Dead
Even with all their efforts, the destruction was too great. Entire districts were burned to the ground. The military was nearly wiped out. And 6,000 civilians lay dead among the ruins of Hetlyl.
Some of the hunters didn't trust Akira. But Rayal, staring at the devastation, didn't care anymore. He had only one thought:
"I will burn every last one of them."
