The place that makes people angry

Irene reached out to grab but grabbed an empty hand, just when Irene thought that Kerlina had suddenly left and left herself hanging here, there was a soft sound of "ching", Irene saw a light appear in front of her, it turned out that Kerlina had just left herself to go to pull open the curtains, and a ray of moonlight shone through the back of the half-opened window, bringing a little light into the room. this room a little light.

"The bed over here is yours, Miss Irene." Kelina told Erin, pointing to a small iron bed near the window, while pointing to a large cabinet standing by the corner, "The top compartment here is allocated for you to use, it may be a little higher and less convenient, but it'll have to do, and the bottom two are for me and Dilly."

At this time, through the moonlight Erin could see that there were two other beds on the other side of the window which was opposite the bed Erin had just been assigned, one was empty which should be Kerlina's, while on the other bed there was a much younger looking teenage girl, estimated to be only fourteen years old, looking at Erin with a pair of curious brown eyes, and that teenage girl was supposed to be Dilly.

"Hello, my name is Erin." Erin greeted the young girl who was looking at her with a curious face, the tenants in this room were pretty nice by all accounts, and the two young girls were not too old, Erin had the thought from the bottom of her heart that she was older and should take better care of them.

And to Erin's surprise, Dilly didn't react to Erin's greeting, only those brown eyes stared at Erin with even more curiosity, which made Erin look a little puzzled, and in the end, she had to look at Kerlina.

"Dilly has some ear problems, so she can't always hear what you say. Also, she has bad feet, so that's why I let her use the bottom cupboard. Actually, all my stuff is on this middle level, so if your clothes have never been ready, then you can wear mine first." Kelina said patiently, while pulling open the large side of the cupboard and placing the two dresses she had just given to Erin on the top tier.

"Girls, it's time to go to bed, so don't be rambling on and on. I'll have the cat scratch your arses if you're up late in the morning." There was a sudden rap on the door, followed by Mrs Cooley's obnoxiously loud voice, which was obviously directed at Irene.

And Mrs Cooley was clearly intending to go against Lola when she said that, because before entering, Lola had clearly told Kerlina to give Erin a lecture on the rules, but it had only been five minutes since she had entered, and Mrs Cooley was yelling like that, supposedly cautioning Kerlina not to talk too much, and with the clearer purpose of hoping that Erin would make a mistake if she knew nothing about it.

"Oh yes, Mrs Cooley good night." Kerlina busied herself by running to the door and responding through the doorway. Only when she heard the distant sound of Mrs Cooley's footsteps on the floor from her strong body did Kirlina walk back quickly and lay down on the bed across from Irene, making a silent gesture at her.

"She's not even gone, so what's there to be afraid of?" Irene was very unimpressed with Kerlina's caution and sat down on her bed, rocking both legs and asking Kerlina, who was already covered with a small blanket and ready to go to sleep.

"Shhh, don't say it again, we're lowly underlings, but next door lives a high class maid." Kerlina kept her voice low while reaching out and pointing towards the wall behind her.

Irene also looked back at the wall behind her, and realised that the walls of the hut seemed to be separated by wooden boards, so this room was not soundproof, and Kerlina was afraid of "ears through the wall", so it seemed that there was no trust or friendship between people here, and it was completely a state of the strongest and the weakest.

"Well, good night." Rolling over onto this little iron bed that was her own, Irene's back ached from the hard edges of the bed, and as soon as she rolled over and got up, she lifted the little blanket underneath her only to realise that there was only a woolen blanket on the boards of the bed, and the pillow, though it touched like it was feathered, had surprisingly few feathers in it, and only as soon as she lay down on it it flattened out as if there was nothing underneath the whole of her head, and the same pinching of her brain hurt her brain.

"This ..." Looking at Kerlina curled up on the edge of the bed, and looking at Dilly, who had crawled on the bed and kept staring at herself, Erin knew that not only were the material things of this era barren, but even the lives of the lower classes bordered on masochism on a daily basis.

"That's fine." Finally, Dilly, who had been watching Erin, opened her mouth and whispered two words. When Erin looked over, she saw Dilly smiling to herself, taking her feather pillow over and folding it twice over as an example, so that it was always said to be a little thicker.

"Thanks." Though she knew her thanks Dilly wouldn't necessarily be able to hear, Erin nodded and smiled, expressing her friendly's and gratitude.

"Hey hey hey, are you guys going to sleep or not? If you can't get up in the morning, it's not just the cat that's going to be scratching your arses, I'm going to be kicking your arse too." The sound of slapping on the wall came violently from next door, and a very croaky sounding female voice came out, obviously this was one of the higher maids that Kerlina was talking about.

"Oh, I'm sorry Miss Frith, we won't make any more noise, good night." Kerlina immediately answered coyly, and then waved her hand vigorously towards Irene, meaning that she should never make another sound.

Erin half squinted her eyes and glanced behind her towards the plywood wall that had just been slapped and almost shaken, this place was a real pain in the arse, and what were all these women pretending to do, wasn't there even a hint of camaraderie amongst their colleagues! Taking another look at Dilly who had already rolled over and laid back down and Kerlina who didn't dare to make another sound, Erin knew that both of them teenage girls must have been bullied like this all along, that's why they were so little mouse-like.

"Phew, sleep, maybe it was all just a dream." Letting out a long breath, Erin pushed her anger down, blaming it all on the fact that she hadn't been afraid to admit it yet, and looking forward to waking up to a new day in the morning that would likewise put an end to this nightmare just fine.

And on the other side ...

"Lord Baron Thomas, is your injury going to be alright?" Butler Trick came back from the small building in the back and went straight to Thomas' bedroom on the first floor. After knocking on the door and getting permission, he pushed the door in and saw that Thomas was sitting on a chair and drinking wine, while the pulled up sleeve could still clearly see the red and swollen line on his arm that was left behind after being hit by a heavy sword bullet.
