It was his team members. They were approaching the cave from different directions of the cave entrance.
'I guess they had their own little plan. Lure the beast away, seperate in different directions and come back for their orbs. Not bad.'
They too made it into the cave and were ready to awaken their elements.
"Have you awakened?", a girl asked him.
"Not yet, was just about doing to do that," Xavier replied.
3 minute left.
Again, the mana beast came, as if it's main objective was to stop them from awakening.
It raced through the snow from a distant view, printing claw facets after every pounce it made.
As it made it into the cave entrance, it crashed through all the stalagmites, dispersing ice shards everywhere, welcoming the cave to a more open area.
It stood from a distance and blasted a gust of very cold wind towards the team. It turned them all to popsicles - all but Xavier. It pounced on them, revealing the same fate as the stalagmites unto them.
They were all dead.
Xavier was the only one left, still hiding in his little corner hoping not to be spotted by the beast.
To bad for him, the beast could sense body heat.
It raced towards his direction.
1 minute left.
"It's all or nothing now. I've gotta do it now."
Although being battered and in agonizing pain, he lept away and towards the orbs barely avoiding the beast's deadly slice.
He crawled the little centimeters left and quickly grabbed an orb and absorbed it into himself.
[Congratulations, you have awakened Light]
[10 SP granted]
[Unique Skill : Infinite Mana]
"Light, how convenient. I can work with this."
With all the pain and agony endured, he couldn't let it all be nothing.
Even though his primary objective was to awaken now it was time for pay back and he was paying hard.
He forced himself up and began to talk to the beast as if he was talking to a human "You beat me up and killed my team. Your gonna pay!"
As he spoke, power surged in the air. The stalactites above quaked and some began to fall down, crashing down above the cave floor, with the mana beast slightly avoiding each crash.
The ice on the ground revolted in lazy arising in command to the divine presence that lurked in the cave.
The mana beast morphed into a dragon and prepared a fire ball ready to cook its opponent.
As Xavier gathered up his mana, it surged, commanding many other orbs around.
They flowed from the surrounding walls and streamed into Xavier like a multi-coloured river of power, restoring his lost energy and granting hik more elements.
[Congratulations, you have awakened fire]
[Congratulations, you have awakened water]
[Congratulations, you have awakened earth]
[Congratulations, you have awakened lightning]

The notifications kept pouring in.
The two were so muched focused on their opponents. They each mustered everything they could to put an end to each other as swiftly as possible.
For the shade, it had already failed in letting Xavier awaken but I had a renewed opportunity to put an end to him now that his pride and rage had clouded his actions.
While for Xavier, it wasn't about showing off his new power or even redeeming himself. It was more about them, those that carried him till this point in the test - his teammates. And though he never even knew any of their names, he found it necessary to honour them by blasting the living darkness out of this demon.
He channelled his mana and the spell accumulated above Xavier's head and grew into a fierce raging storm cracking ambient ice and other unfortunate things around.
The shade on its own end was ready with it's own attack - a dreadful fireball almost equivalent to a little sun between its jaws.
It was time to see who will be the final survivor.
They both launched their attacks.
The dragon's more swift while Xavier's slow and large but steady in motion.
When contact was established, a wave of steam and energy erupted.
More ice began to melt, water began dripping in futile effort to cool the heat and tension created in the cave.
The tussle outcome was quite predictable.
Between an experienced A- rank demon and a green horn god. I wonder who will prevail?
The spells where already engaged.
Neither allowed the other to overwhelm them.
The two fierce beasts poured out all they had to dissipate the other, but as in every battle, there must always be a victor.
"Why fight fire with fire…. when you can absorb it."
Xavier's spell swallowed that of the shade before it accelerated towards the shade.
In a few milliseconds the shade was dissipated and Xavier had won.
From the aerial view of the control center, a white beam of light could be seen shooting towards the sky.
The readings they were getting form that chamber was off the charts.
After the devastating attack, the virtual chamber bore in the same fate as the shade.
Everything around him revealed its virtual nature.
The snow began to fade in slow transitions. The ice began to defragment while the rest of the mountain just vanished into pixels revealing bundles of sparking wires and broken metal of the chamber.
So much energy had left Xavier and he was only just awakening. It really did take a toll on him.
[Light Storm: 1%]
'Yes, I did it.'
He collapsed on the ground and fainted.
Xavier was obviously a natural and very intelligent.
For anyone to pull off such a spell as that with an immature soul core, he must have truly been a god.

Meanwhile, on Lyra's end, she was paired up with some old friends and they made it out smooth.
Her team was one of the foremost to make it out.
Their test setting wasn't too far from what she already experienced here in Eldoria, hence an easy victory for her and her team.
