Chapter 4-Enter The Rookie Dungeon!

Early the next morning, Li Yao woke up on time.

The Void Mantis remained hidden in the void, motionless like a vigilant guardian.

As long as it didn't attack, its invisibility could be maintained indefinitely.

With an invisibility level of 5, only those with scouting skills above level 5 could detect its presence.

Combined with the Chessmaster talent, Li Yao was practically invincible.

Thinking of this, a faint smirk appeared on his lips.

By the time he arrived at school, several buses were already parked at the gate, waiting to transport students to the dungeon site.

The Newcomer Dungeon wasn't exclusive to Yucai High School—all students in Jiangzhou City who had completed their class awakenings would be entering it.

When Li Yao reached the dungeon entrance, it was already packed with students.

They were grouped by class, waiting patiently for the dungeon to open, while teachers and principals gathered in small circles, chatting.

"Old Zhang, Yucai is really something this year!"

"Two A-rank awakenings in one go?

With results like this, are you planning to apply for advanced training in the main city?"

"Haha." Zhang Yi's face was glowing with pride, but he waved his hand humbly.

"You all know, one of them is a Summoner.

Doesn't really count for much."

"Besides, your schools have A-rank professions too, so don't tease me."

The principals stood together, engaged in a lively discussion.

"A double A-rank awakening—Yucai is probably going to take first place this year."

"Principal Yang, don't be so modest.

That thunderstorm anomaly at your Third High must be an A-rank magic class, right?"

"Hah, just a mere Thunderwalker—barely qualifies as a magic class.

Not worth mentioning, not worth mentioning!"

"I also heard that Old Wang's school got an A-rank Barrier Master—a rare class, isn't it?"

"Nothing escapes you, Old Zhang."

The principals were all old acquaintances, usually busy with their own schools.

The Newcomer Dungeon was one of the few occasions where they could catch up.

Third High's newly awakened Thunderwalker was undoubtedly a powerful magic profession.

Meanwhile, the Barrier Master from Shulin High, though also A-rank, belonged to the rare class category—arguably the most unique awakening in Jiangzhou this year.

By comparison, even though Yucai had two A-rank awakenings, one of them was a Summoner, which no one took seriously.

At this stage, it was too early to say which school would come out on top.

More importantly, from the way the principals spoke, none of them considered Summoners to be true combat power.

In their eyes, if Yucai wanted to claim first place, they had to rely on that Frost Guardian student.

After some casual conversation, the principals returned to their respective school groups.

"Alright, students, quiet down.

Before the dungeon opens, I have a few words to say."

As soon as Principal Zhang Yi spoke, the crowd immediately fell silent.

"Aside from Li Yao, all combat classes must enter the dungeon with either a healer or a tank in their party."

"Don't assume that just because the dungeon difficulty is low, you can abandon support professions and level up alone."

"If everyone thinks this way, wouldn't support professions never get a chance to level up?"

"Bringing support now might benefit you later—once they level up, you'll be the ones begging to join their parties."

His words made a lot of sense.

Many students who had initially planned to solo grind reconsidered and quickly began forming parties.

"Why doesn't Li Yao need to bring support?" someone asked, puzzled.

Principal Zhang Yi responded indifferently: "Li Yao is a Summoner. If you're curious, ask the support students if they're willing to party with him."

Hearing this, several support-class students immediately shook their heads.

A Summoner?

That trash-tier profession?

Who would dare team up with him?

Seeing this, Li Yao secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

It wasn't that he was unwilling to party with supports, but his goal was to get into one of the Four Great Academies.

To achieve that, he needed to reach at least level 15, and if possible, push for level 20.

With the Martial Exam only two weeks away, even hitting level 20 was already an insane challenge.

Dragging along a support?

Impossible.

"Alright, there are ten minutes left before the dungeon opens.

You may form your parties now."

"If any support students can't find a team, come see me—I'll arrange one for you."

With that, Zhang Yi turned and left.

The students immediately scrambled to form parties, filling the area with chatter and excitement.

However, Li Yao stood alone, as if completely forgotten.

Then suddenly—

A commotion broke out in the crowd.

"Jiang, the school beauty, is here!"

All eyes turned as Jiang Ningyu approached.

She wore a light blue mage robe, her graceful figure and stunning features instantly making the blood pressure of every young student skyrocket.

She walked directly up to Li Yao.

Li Yao looked up.

"What do you want?"

"Of course I have something to say."

Jiang Ningyu spoke softly, her tone filled with confidence.

"As a Summoner, it must be difficult for you to find a party, right?"

"Our team still needs one more DPS.

Why don't you join us?"

At this moment, Jiang Ningyu had regained her usual grace and confidence.

In her mind, there was no way Li Yao would reject her offer. Of course, she wasn't inviting him out of old feelings—it was because Li Yao had taken her A-rank skill.

In other words, Li Yao now possessed an A-rank summon.

At level 1, an A-rank summon was an absolute powerhouse, capable of crushing same-level players.

If she could get Li Yao on her team, her leveling speed would skyrocket!

Most importantly, if the team performed well, who would get the credit?

Certainly not Li Yao, a mere Summoner. She, an A-rank Mage, would be seen as the key player.

"Didn't Jiang break up with Li Yao?

Why is she inviting him now?"

"Maybe she pities him?"

"Li Yao is all alone.

He probably won't even kill a single monster in the dungeon, let alone level up."

"This is a mistake!

Li Yao stole Jiang's A-rank skill and five million credits, and she's still willing to help him?"

"Jiang is too kind!

Doesn't she realize that by partying up, she'll have to share EXP with him?"

Everyone thought Li Yao wouldn't refuse. After all, he was currently party-less, and Jiang Ningyu was a top-tier A-rank player—she was a walking golden ticket.

But then—

Li Yao merely scoffed.

"You wish."

Without another word, he turned and walked straight toward the dungeon entrance, not sparing Jiang Ningyu a single glance.

"Wait!"

Jiang Ningyu was caught off guard and quickly chased after him.

"You're just a Summoner!

Are you planning to solo the dungeon?!"

Li Yao's voice was cold.

"Stop bothering me. You just want my A-rank summon to carry you."

"You—!"

Jiang Ningyu's face turned pale with anger. She stammered but couldn't find the words.

As Li Yao stepped into the dungeon, she could only stomp her foot in frustration, glaring at his disappearing figure.

"Jiang, let's go."

Behind her, a B-rank tank, Ye Tao, smirked, gripping his bronze-tier shield.

"Even without Li Yao, our team is definitely in the top ranks."

"When the dungeon ends and he sees our levels, he'll regret it."

Jiang Ningyu withdrew her gaze, snorted coldly, and led her team into the dungeon.

"Let's see how far you can get with just that one summon, Li Yao."
