CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT
MICHAEL X MICHELLE KIDNAPPED
Michael and Michelle were taking slow strides down the street. It was empty and quiet except for very few passersby. It was night already, but the street lamps were on there to illuminate their paths. After a while, Michael spots a sitting space ahead of them.
"Michelle, let's go sit there," he suggested, and they walked over to sit there.
"You've been staring at your watch. Are you going somewhere?" Michelle asked, looking at him.
He sighed, "You remember that night we saw Maxwell?"
She nodded.
"He told me about another party the boys were having. I'd promised him I'd be there."
"Michael..." She wanted to tell him again not to go. But she couldn't. She just shook her head and looked away. "Never mind."
"Mmmh! You sure, Michelle?" He asked her.
"Yeah!" She nodded.
Just then, from behind, two people covered their noses with handkerchiefs, and before they knew what was happening, they became unconscious.

Michael opened his eyes weakly. He looked around the room he was in. It was spacious but empty. The room was painted white, and the lights were all turned on and very bright. He sat up on the bed and turned around to see Michelle on the other side of the bed. Her hands were tied up, and that was when he noticed that his own hands were also tied. He sighed. Suddenly, he heard footsteps outside the door, and he quickly lay back, pretending to be fast asleep.
A man entered. Following behind him were two hefty men. The first man stopped at the foot of the bed, between Michelle and him.
"This time, you guys did a good job. Hope no one saw you?" The first man asked.
"Yes, Sir! We made his driver unconscious. He didn't even see our faces. But, Sir...why did you kidnap the CEO's son?" One of the other two men asked.
"This is the only way I can save my company," the first man hissed. "I didn't want to do this, but I don't have any other choice. Alfred is a very brutal businessman. I can't let my investments and efforts go down the drain. We just need three billion from him. I heard he loved his son so much and would do anything for him. Once the money is secured, you can release the boy. Tell him not to involve any armed forces, and don't forget to threaten him with his son's life, okay?"
"Yes, Sir. Are you sure it's gonna work?" The other man asked.
"Yes. It has to. Chord already mapped out a plan B. Even if Alfred tries to trace it, we have an alibi. Don't let that bother you, Alfred loves his son," he looks at Michelle. "And...who's the girl?"
"I don't know. She was with him last night. I guess the boys kidnapped both of them. I think Michael's on drugs, too," one of the men said.
"What do you mean?" The man turned to look at him.
"When we checked his car, we found drugs in it. We took them along. Chord looked into it and told us it's a daily intake of medications for someone who has heart issues," the other man answered.
"Mmmh!" The first man looks at Michael, who was still pretending to be fast asleep. "Just...make sure you guys take good care of him. In between, send an anonymous email to Alfred. Mention his son's health in it too, so Alfred would make haste."
The other two nodded and bowed as the first man walked out, and they followed him.
Once the door shut, Michelle sat up immediately.
"Michael!" Michelle called out, almost in a whisper.
"Mmmh!" Michael answered, opening his eyes, while trying to sit up.
"You also heard everything, right?" She asked.
"Yes! I know that man. He's one of my dad's business partners. He should have made a better decision than this one. I guess not everyone has enough sense in their brain banks," Michael said, rolling his eyes. Then he looks at her. "I'm sorry for dragging you into this? Hope you're okay?"
"I'm fine, Michael. Let's worry about you first."
"I'm fine too. I believe my heart's rhythms also understand the situation at hand. Can you come close, let me try untying you," he suggested.
"Okay," she crawled closer to him, but they paused when the door opened and five hefty men came into the room. Their faces were covered with black masks. Two stood at the door. While the other three stopped in front of them.
"I see what you guys are doing?" One of them said.
"Let them be. Aren't they lovers?" another said again with a heavy note of sarcasm.
The one who stood in the front raised his hand towards Michael, but Michelle's scream prevented the hand from going down further.
"Please, don't hit him! Please!" She cried out.
That turned everyone's attention to her.
"No!" The man said. "I was just about to admire the pretty boy's hair, mmmh!" The man tried to touch Michael's hair, but Michael shifted.
"Even though I would love to hit him," he said and chuckled while touching the tip of Michael's hair. Michael was staring back at him.
"No! No! No! You can hit me instead," Michelle said again, and that made all of them look at her.
"No! Michelle...you can't..." Michael began to say, but was interrupted when he heard a slap on Michelle's face.
"This beauty is pissing me off. Makes me want to do things with her," he said, looking at Michelle, whose pale right cheek was already a red color. She was staring at him.
"She's asking for it!" He screamed and wanted to hit her again, but Michael's cough stopped him. "Boys!" He called out.
"Take her away!!!" He commanded.
Amidst, Michelle shifted backwards and Michael coughed profusely while trying to plead with his eyes. One of the men lunged forward and dragged Michelle, then carried her into his arms while she struggled with him.
"Let me go!" She kept screaming as they carried her out, and all of them, leaving only the first man and Michael.
"Your father has less than a day to have you released. You should pay more, mmmh!" The man said to Michael.
"Please. Do not touch her. I beg you. I would give you anything you want. Just let her go, please!" Michael said weakly.
"Mmmh! I might let her go. If not for anything, your face and wealth have all it takes to do that. You said you would give me anything?" The man asked, looking at Michael.
"Let me talk to my father. I'll double the amount for you," Michael said softly.
"What about the security forces? Should I be bothered?"
"I'll ensure your safety."
"How do I trust you won't betray me?"
"You have my girl. She returns to me, and I'll guarantee your safety. Chairman Olseen will still go bankrupt. Either way, he'll lose and you know it...Chord!"
The man was shocked as he stared back at Michael.
"You're shocked, right? I know you're Chord. So now, do we have a deal?" Michael smiled.
The man paused for a while, chuckling, he nodded and walked out of the room.

Chord entered the room where all the other boys were gathered around Michelle, who was curled up by the wall. He noticed some little bruises on her body when he bent down where she was.
"Leave us!" He commanded the boys.
Reluctantly, they left the room until it was just the two of them. He tried to touch her arm, but she flinched away.
"You know..." He smiled. "It's crazy that Michael just struck a deal with me because of you."
Michelle looked at him when he said that, but she didn't say a word.
"He's a Watts. You know that, right?" He asked, still looking at her. She didn't reply. Just nodded slowly.
He smiled and brought out a small knife. He took her hands and cut off the rope that was used to hold her hands together.
"You love him, right?" He asked again. Michelle nodded. He began to chuckle.
"I see. I never dreamed of this kind of life I'm leading. But this is what comes with being super good with computers. I also have to earn my keep, mmmh!" He nodded. "This is also one of the things I need, and Michael just promised me more because of you," he shrugs. "It's not bad, mmmh! But you should make sure you never let go of this love, I think it's headed somewhere. So now, you go meet him in that room and take care of him. I'll serve you something very soon, so just wait a little for me, okay?"
Michelle nods quickly. "Add a lot of apples," she said and ran, covering his face.
"Just how did that man train up his son?" He shook his head.
