He trembled as he stood up, repeatedly rubbing his eyes, doubting if it was just his imagination.

"Melody? Is it really you, Melody?"

I nodded, "It's me."

Draven lunged forward, trying to embrace me, but I pushed him away.

"I'm not here for a reunion. I'm just here on someone's behalf. Can you please keep your hands to yourself?"

Just being able to see me again was already an unimaginable blessing for Draven. Naturally, he'd do whatever I said. He obediently stepped back, nodding repeatedly, "Okay, whatever Melody says is fine. Melody, I've missed you so much. Can you forgive me?"

"No."

Draven was stunned, then started to panic, "I, I avenged you, really. I punished everyone involved. I've done so much. Can you forgive me? Just say you forgive me."

He was panicked and helpless, like a pitiful child, as if my single word could determine his life or death.

As if he truly loved me to his very core.

"Melody..." Draven looked at me, like a lost and helpless big dog.
