In ancient times, the five celestial beings, known as the Primeval Beings, created the planet Zejin, scattering Zejin shards across its surface. These shards contained manipulative and creative capabilities, affecting a portion of the human population. This led to the birth of the blessed Zejin race. They are born with Zejin shards and have the capability to use them according to their will.
And this finally begins my journey. My name is Zero, and I am a Zejin.
The year is 3284, and my brother, One, a tall, powerfully built man, cold blue eyes, and a black bodysuit with a blue cape, told me that since I'm strong enough now, I will be going on a quest to get stronger. It's been 5 years since I learned to use my shard. I managed to learn two techniques: Flame and Wind. From what I've learned, my shards are still somewhat unstable, but I have my way around it.
The crew is getting ready to leave for the mission and One stands amoung us and says,
"Okay, guys, we'll need Hunter to supply us with armor."
Hunter, a dark-skinned man with spiky black hair, is incredibly smart, making weapons, robots, and armor. He stands at 6'1" and wears fashionable clothing like blue jackets, a black shirt, and white pants. He gets a cylinder-like object with a button on top. The use is unclear, but I digress.
"Since I am the smartest one here, with my incredibly high IQ..." Hunter's eyes close, and he lets out a cocky smile. "I say I should be the lead-" Before he can finish the sentence, a pan hits his head, leaving a big red bump.
"Oops, sorry, Hunter," a feminine voice says. "You should have watched where you were standing." I saw my sister, Laina, with her long black hair and a big attitude. She loves cooking and wears whatever fits her. She smiles and hands us all Bento boxes with our names on it. "So what name have you guys decided on for the team?" she asks, and a wide smile runs across my face.
"The Nightcrawlers!" I shout proudly, but everyone went silent.
One gives me a sharp look and leaves, indicating we should follow him. Laina sighs because One had left his bento box on the table. I smiled at her. "One will eventually realize how hard you work for us," I tell her. Laina's face lights up.
"I know that I will never fight just because I don't have shards, I am a failure, but I wouldn't have it any other way." Her smile seems genuine. And I agree say that One has been pretty hard on us lately.
Laina closes the door as everyone leaves, and I see her shed a tear. Maybe she wants One's attention or maybe One is being too harsh.
