Chapter 16 : The Abyssal Executioner -A battle beyond limits

A Kingdom in Peril

The night sky over Aurelius, the Golden Empire, burned red. Flames crackled, the scent of blood mixed with smoke, and terrified screams echoed across the once-proud kingdom.

At the heart of the destruction, a monstrous figure stood tall, its hulking black armor reflecting the inferno around it. Crimson eyes glowed beneath its horned helmet, and its massive, serrated sword dripped with the blood of fallen warriors.

The Abyssal Executioner.

An ancient nightmare. A demonic executioner from the Abyssal Realm, summoned by an unknown force. Its presence alone crushed the morale of Aurelius's strongest knights.

Even the S-Rank guild masters could barely stand against its oppressive aura.

And then, stepping forward…

"I'll take this one."

Reo Graphite.

His midnight-black coat fluttered as he walked into the battlefield. Behind him, two breathtaking women followed—Lucia, his childhood friend, and Celestia, the goddess reborn into human form.

All eyes turned toward the trio.

Even the knights, who had lost hope, were stunned.

"T-That woman… is she a goddess?"

"And Lucia... she looks like a battle maiden from the legends!"

The Abyssal Executioner turned its gaze toward them, locking onto Reo.

Then, without warning—

BOOM!

It lunged forward, swinging its sword in a brutal arc.

The ground split apart. The wind howled. The force of the swing alone crushed stone buildings nearby.

But Reo didn't move.

Lucia and Celestia did.

With inhuman speed, both women vanished from their positions—

—Lucia appeared above the demon's head, her twin daggers coated in shimmering blue mana.

—Celestia moved like golden lightning, her divine spear flashing toward the demon's exposed flank.

A perfect attack.

They struck in sync.

CLANG!

Their weapons bounced off the demon's armor.

Lucia's eyes widened. "It didn't even scratch?!"

Celestia clicked her tongue. "Its defenses are absurd. Reo, do it."

Reo sighed, stepping forward.

"Fine. Let's break this thing."

Then, for the first time—

—He activated half of his full power.

A Hero Awakens

Reo exhaled.

He raised his right hand, and a golden magic circle formed beneath his feet. The air crackled as mana surged around him, distorting space itself.

Then—

"Creation Script: Void Cleaver."

A massive black sword formed in his grasp, forged from pure destruction magic. Unlike ordinary weapons, this sword ignored physical defense.

The Abyssal Executioner roared, sensing the danger.

It charged again, but this time, Reo moved first.

In an instant, he was above the demon.

His Void Cleaver came down.

SLASH!

A deep cut tore through the Abyssal Executioner's shoulder.

Lucia's eyes widened. "It actually—"

Before she could finish—

The Executioner's body regenerated instantly.

Celestia cursed. "This thing has Abyssal Regeneration?!"

Reo clicked his tongue. "Annoying bastard."

The demon swung its sword at Reo, but he vanished, appearing behind it in a blink.

Another slash.

More damage—but the monster healed instantly again.

Lucia gritted her teeth. "This isn't working. Even Reo's attacks can't finish it!"

Celestia's golden eyes glowed. "Reo, we need a sealing technique."

Reo sighed. "I was saving this, but fine…"

He raised his left hand—and activated something he hadn't used before.

A second magic circle formed beneath him, but this one pulsed with ancient power.

Celestia's breath hitched. "That… that's not normal magic. Reo, what are you doing?"

Reo smirked. "I'm breaking the rules."

Then, for the first time, he unlocked the hidden evolution of Creation Script.

"Creation Script: Abyss Devourer."

The entire battlefield shook.

A massive black vortex appeared above them, swirling with a terrifying, bottomless void.

The Abyssal Executioner froze—as if recognizing true death for the first time.

Reo pointed his sword at the demon.

"You're going in."

The End of the Abyssal Executioner

The vortex expanded, sucking everything toward it.

The Executioner howled in rage, trying to resist—but even its overwhelming strength wasn't enough.

Bit by bit, its body disintegrated, pulled into the infinite abyss.

The demon thrashed, but it was helpless.

Finally—

With a final scream, the Abyssal Executioner vanished, erased from existence.

Silence fell.

Then—

The crowd erupted in cheers.

The Aurelius knights threw their helmets into the air, celebrating.

"He did it! The demon is gone!"

"That man… that's no ordinary adventurer!"

Even Lucia and Celestia stared at Reo in disbelief.

Lucia crossed her arms. "So… you had an overpowered ability like that this whole time?"

Celestia smirked. "Looks like my husband is even more impressive than I thought."

Reo sighed, dismissing his sword. "That took way too much mana."

Then, Celestia stepped close, pressing herself against him.

"You know…" she whispered, "you looked really hot back there."

Lucia's face turned red. "Oi! Celestia, don't start that in public!"

Celestia grinned mischievously. "Why not? He is my husband, after all."

Lucia pouted. "I-I mean… I didn't say I'd let you have him all to yourself!"

Reo groaned. "Not this again…"

But deep down… he smirked.

A New Threat Looms

As they celebrated, in the far distance, a shadowy figure watched from atop a ruined castle.

The figure grinned, revealing glowing red eyes.

"So… you finally used that power, Reo Graphite."

A powerful aura flared around them, shaking the very air.

"This was just the beginning."

The shadow disappeared, leaving behind only a whisper on the wind.

"Soon… we'll meet. And when we do, you will kneel."
