Twins

"Damn, I'm late."

Hassan gripped the steering wheel tightly before slamming his car into a parking spot at the high school. He cut the engine and exhaled in frustration, glancing angrily at his phone on the passenger seat.

*Ring.*

He frowned as he saw the name on the screen. He hesitated for a second before answering.

"What do I owe this call to, Father?"

His father's deep, authoritative voice immediately resonated on the other end.

[You're finally reachable.]

"Wow, not even a 'How are you?' after over a year without news."

[You're not lacking anything, Hassan. You're obviously fine. Now, have you found it?]

Hassan clenched his jaw, his gaze drifting to the dashboard of his car.

"It's not that easy to find, Father. It's like looking for a needle in a haystack."

[Should I send help—]

"NO!"

He cleared his throat to mask his outburst and continued in a calmer tone:

"I've got it under control, Father."

[Good. Don't disappoint me.]

"I don't intend to."

A heavy silence fell before his father added in a neutral tone:

[Your mother sends her regards.]

Then, without waiting for a response, the call ended.

Hassan threw his phone onto the seat with frustration before getting out of the car and slamming the door shut.

"FUCK!"

He ran a hand through his black hair, taking a deep breath to try to calm his anger. He didn't have time to let these family issues ruin his day. He was already late and needed to find a way to blend in.

Suddenly, a black limousine pulled up in front of the school's main entrance. Immediately, the principal himself rushed toward the car, visibly anxious to welcome the new arrivals.

Hassan narrowed his eyes.

"Interesting…"

Taking advantage of the commotion caused by the limousine's arrival, he slipped discreetly through the school corridors and managed to reach his classroom without drawing too much attention.

As soon as he opened the door, the teacher, looking exhausted, gave him a weary glance.

"Late on the first day, Hassan. Impressive."

He shrugged, looking falsely apologetic.

"It's not my fault, I didn't see the keys to my Ford F-150 Raptor."

A few muffled laughs rose from the class. The teacher sighed.

"Enough. Go sit down."

Hassan casually made his way to an empty seat at the back of the class and dropped his bag on the floor.

But before he could catch his breath, the door opened again.

The principal entered with a solemn expression and cleared his throat before addressing the teacher:

"Please excuse my interruption."

The teacher was taken aback for a moment before nodding vaguely.

The principal then turned his attention to the students.

"Good morning, everyone. I'm here to announce the arrival of two new students in your class. I ask that you give them a warm welcome."

He gestured toward the hallway.

"You can come in, girls."

An immediate silence fell. All eyes turned toward the door, curious and attentive.

Hassan, who had been paying little attention until then, sat up slightly, intrigued by the sudden change in atmosphere.

As soon as the new arrivals stepped through the doorway, a murmur ran through the class a mix of surprise and admiration.

Two girls stood there, identical yet different. One had wavy black hair that cascaded over her shoulders, framing a face with delicate features and piercing eyes. The other had short, boyish hair, and her impassive expression exuded an intimidating coldness. They shared the same pair of amber eyes, deep and penetrating.

They were twins.

Hassan narrowed his eyes slightly, analyzing each of them, before fixing his gaze on the second girl with a frown.

"Even more interesting…" he muttered to himself.

The teacher, who had let the moment linger, spoke up in a formal tone:

"Introduce yourselves."

The two girls exchanged a quick glance before the first one spoke in a calm, confident voice.

"Hello, my name is Katrina and…"

The other cut her off sharply.

"Kathy."

The teacher didn't comment on the second girl's abrupt tone and simply nodded.

"Welcome. You can take the empty seats."

As the twins made their way to the back of the class, the students continued to watch them with undisguised curiosity. Only Kaiser, slumped at his desk with his head on his arms, seemed completely indifferent. A faint snore escaped his lips.

The rest of the class proceeded without major incident. When the bell finally rang for break, the students rose in an impatient buzz.

Hassan, who had just packed up his things, was heading for the door when Yuki caught up with him. Behind him, Benjamin and Hugo followed closely.

"Yo, my niggas, you coming to the cafeteria?" Yuki asked casually.

They headed together toward the cafeteria, weaving through the crowded hallways. The school buzzed with activity students chatting, laughing, or rushing to their next meeting spot.

Yuki, always animated, was in the middle of a heated debate with Carter about the latest video game release, a topic he seemed to take very seriously.

"Seriously, man, the gameplay is so smooth! You haven't tried it yet?" he exclaimed enthusiastically.

"Just looking at her boobs makes me want to drink milk…" Hugo muttered lazily, prompting a round of laughter.

Meanwhile, Benjamin and Kaiser chatted about random things, exchanging anecdotes about the day. Hugo, true to form, couldn't stop whistling or making vulgar comments at every girl who passed by.

"Tsk… damn, with those tights, you can barely see anything…" he grumbled, clearly frustrated.

Kaiser raised an eyebrow, turning to him with a mocking expression.

"Why do I feel like you're a rabid dog that barks but doesn't bite?"

Hugo glared at him before retorting sharply:

"Shut up. Did you give her the letter at least?"

Kaiser shrugged.

"Yeah…"

Hassan, intrigued, asked:

"What letter?"

Kaiser shrugged again, displaying an indifferent expression.

"What do I know."

Hugo, on the other hand, had already moved on. His eyes followed the silhouette of a girl walking away, and a whisper escaped him:

"Big ass..."

Benjamin, who had been watching the scene with amusement, let out a mocking laugh.

"He's the biggest Husky in the school. His title of predator is well deserved."
