A wave of pain, unlike anything he had ever felt before, racked Samuel's body "Aaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!" A gut-wrenching scream escaped his lips. One by one his stars shattered and disappeared and Samuel continued to scream in agony. The pain should have knocked him out if not killed him outright.
The pain he was experiencing came from his very soul something that most beings would not be able to stay conscious while experiencing, but the entity wouldn't let Samuel fall unconscious or die...Veins of golden mythos ran across his brawn skin as he felt like molten liquid was moving within his body.
"Unfortunately your suffering is only just beginning. Once I'm done with you, you will be left with only the absolute bare minimum needed to allow you to enter Nexus. You see as you lose each star your compatibility with mythos keeps decreasing. You and your friends are right in assuming that being imaginative and believing in the impossible helps one with obtaining a stronger Karna. That's not all, the most that those factors can get you is 5 stars. That's when Mythos compatibility comes in, the higher one's compatibility the more stars they have. Mythos compatibility is influenced by how imaginative a person is but only to a certain degree.
And mind you these stars and your Karna are all connected to your very core, your soul." The voice kept explaining. Although Samuel was in no condition to process any information right now the voice's words drilled themselves into Samuel's mind, in such a way that It would never be possible for him to forget them. As it spoke Samuel was down to 5 stars and the process was not stopping "You are probably wondering why am I telling you this? To put it simply for the troubles my actions on you today will cause you. I have to give you something and information is the best I can give you for now." Samuel has only 3 stars left.
"Now although your karna will be reduced to a very fragile state. It's not the end of the world. Everything you lost today you will once again acquire them, If you come to Nexus. It will not be easy, you will have to fight and overcome many challenges. So, to help you out I will make sure that your first drop point will be in an apocalypse zone." As it kept speaking Samuels stars went down to 2.
"Clear the apocalypse zone's story quest and find its core. From there you will be on the right track to gain back what I have taken. But I warn you do not enter Nexus until you have mastered the basic abilities of your Karna. Come with any preparations you can cause you will need all the help you can get" And with those last words, Samuel was only left with one star.
His cube like Karna opened up to reveal a beautiful crystal. The crystal split in two and one-half returned within the cube while the other flew into Samuel's body as if it was flicked by someone. His body was then shot out into another portal and he vanished.

In the outside world just as Samuel had entered the portal completely turned golden. Its light was even brighter than that of Billy's. Everyone was instantly stunned. " Another 10-star Karna, how is this possible? What sorcery is this" Captain James said out loud, he was furious and was nearing his breaking point. He was very willing to just kill Samuel as soon as he left.
A sudden golden and silver glow appeared in his eyes. ' I'm tired of this crap. Why are low-born commoners receiving such power when I only have a 6-star Karna? As soon as the boy leaves the portal his dead' the captain thought to himself as the intent to kill was clear in his eyes. His thoughts were suddenly interrupted by a gut ranching scream.
Everyone who heard it felt a shiver run down their spine. Jack instantly stood up as he ran to the stage. " What's happing?" murmurs echoed in the auditorium. " let me through that's my son. What's happening to him." Jack roared in rage as some soldiers stopped him from reaching the stage. " I'm sorry sir but we can't let you get through." A soldier said in a calm voice. Billy and the other boys also rushed to the stage worry clear on their faces. "Captain James what's happening why is Samuel screaming" the boys asked the Captain. Hearing their questions a smirk appeared on Captain James's face. ' the universe is indeed fair. Only the Nobility should possess such power. It serves him right' Captain James thought of this as he stared at the boys and told them "Stay back we don't know what is happening. Any action could potentially endanger the young man's life. We can only wait"
None of the boys or the other students believed his words. The smile on his face showed clear delight at the sound of Samuel's screams. The boys looked at each other and could only grit their teeth. Although they didn't trust this captain they couldn't risk endangering Samuel's life if he said even a little bit of truth.
"Bullshit! Let me through" Jack screamed as he pushed his way through a few soldiers. " Sir if you take another step forward we will take it as an act of attempting to sabotage the ceremony. We will have to use violence" another soldier told him with their guns pointed at him. Jack didn't waste any words on them. His Karna materialized its screen folding and changing shape as they formed a protective visor on his head. " fire!" Said a soldier.
3 soldiers pressed their triggers aiming for nonlethal spots. "Click! Click!" to their shock their guns didn't work " Buzz!" bolts of electricity came from the guns and struck the soldiers holding them. The soldiers trembled and fell to the ground unconscious. The other soldiers instantly realized that Jack was not an easy target. He grabbed a gun and ran up to the stage.
Samuel's screams could still be heard in the auditorium. More soldiers came forward they all dropped their guns and summoned their Karna. Jack did not even hesitate as he aimed the weapon at anyone in his way.
The entire auditorium went into silence at the situation that was unfolding. A father worried about his safety bravely charges into a group of soldiers to save him. It made many people and soldiers feel touched by his determination.
" bang! Bang!..." Jack fired at the soldiers. They all guarded themselves with the Karna and their abilities but most of them were kept at bay. A soldier with large gauntlets charged through the rain of bullets. His fist flew towards Jack. He was fast and Jack barely had time to react before the man got into striking range. With a flash of light the gun Jack held suddenly heated up as a few bullets flew through the air charged with the total energy of the entire gun.
Jack had modified its systems to force the gun the fire out bullets with more power than it usually would. "pop!" the barrier that surrounded the soldier popped and the bullets managed to pierce into the soldier's armor. "Ahhhh!" the soldier screamed as he fought through the pain and struck Jack. "Slam!" Jack raised the gun as a shield but was sent flying a few meters.
" Haah!, haah! I'm getting to my son even if it kills me" Jack said through ragged breaths. Everyone looked at him like a made man. But none could deny the respect that grew as they watched him. Jack's gun was destroyed and his arms felt numb.
Just as Jack was about to rush into the fight against a body exited the portal. Samuel's body landed on the stage as he kept screaming. The cube like Karna spun in the air with 1 star near it. The star was so dim that most people who saw it couldn't believe It was a Karna's star. It looked like it would vanish at any second. Samuel kept screaming and his friends rushed to his side. "Hey, Samuel what's happening man," Billy said. "Someone call a doctor!" Blessed shouted.
" Shit! What's happening to him look at his eyes" Rick said and everyone paid attention to Samuel's eyes. A black membrane began to cover his eyes. Before anyone could do or say anything the entirety of Samuel's eyes turned black. When that happened his screaming stopped and he went unconscious, his Karna vanished Into his body at the same time. " let the father through." Officer Marlin said to the other soldiers.
They obeyed and Jack was allowed to pass. He quickly reached the stage and held Samuel in his arms. Tears ran down his face as fear, anger sadness and other emotions ran through his heart. "Where is the ambulance" he asked the boys. They were practically on the verge of crying out as well. " they should be here any second" Blessed said.
Soon the ambulance arrived and took Samuel away. Jack and Blessed went with the ambulance but Rick and Billy weren't allowed to by the soldiers. Captain James watched the ambulance fly away. All police and other important job vehicles are capable of flight.
" You allowed the father to reach the boy without my orders. I hope you are ready to face the consequences" Captain James said towards Officer Marlin. " Yes sir, " she said without any regret in her voice. Captain James returned to the auditorium to continue and finish the ceremony.
