Dylan's POV
Scarlett's words felt as though they were a direct stab to my heart. I had to look down at my chest to see if it was bleeding or not - I'm not exaggerating.
"But...why?" I asked out of disbelief.
"Because we shouldn't be together, Dylan. What we have right now seems to be more than physical attraction. But there is no use in us staying together if our lifestyles don't even match up. Would you leave your career to stay with me?" She asked. It was another jab to my chest.
Why did I hesitate to answer?
"I'm sorry for using that example. But you know the answer, don't you? We...our lifestyles are way too opposite. It's like a triangle. Ryder, you're busy seasonally, Dylan, you go to concerts when the public demands it. And me...I'm busy all year long guys. And I have a daughter to take care of." Scarlett said. I watched her fingers on her lap. She was fiddling with them softly. She had her own thoughts.
Scarlett's question made me rethink.
