CHAPTER 46: Puzzled

  Ryder's POV

  "...I don't really have one."

  My smile faltered.

Her response threw me off and I didn't know how to respond again.

Turning to Dylan, who was confused by her sudden coldness as well, I shrugged my shoulders to indirectly communicate. Our nonverbal interaction went like this,

'Why is she being so distant with us?'

  Dylan asked.

'I have no idea. Wanna find out with me?'

  I asked.

  'Yes, sure. I wanna know.'

  He replied.

The amazing movie was watched in silence. It was a total bummer.

I wanted to hold Scarlett's hand and look at her in every scene that was funny and touching. I felt disappointment course through me each time she turned to laugh along with Candice, but not me. Not us. She didn't even turn around to face us even once.

Why was she ignoring us deliberately?

I get it. She's around another client and she didn't want the other person to find out, or at least guess what was going on because of our proximity.
