Ryan's POV
She got into the cab and it was now or never. I finally reached outside the building but it was already too late.
Her cab had already taken off.
"Damm!" I screamed and kicked the fire hydrant by the roadside angrily.
Seconds later, my foot started to hurt badly, which affected the way I walked. As I got back in, I started leaping to ease the pain.
That was probably unnecessary but I deserve it. "I should have just waited for her," I thought as I slowly walked back to the building.
I was sad as I didn't lose Ellie once but twice, all in the span of what, a few days?
"Why am I an idiot?" I said in my mind. I walked to the corridor on the ground floor to rest a bit.
Running up and down stairs was hard work if I had put this much energy into training for the Olympics, America would have had more gold medals.
A few minutes later, my feet were almost all healed. I boldly stood up and fixed my tie to go back to my office.
