CHAPTER 54 We Cannot Be Together Ever Again

  Ellie's POV

The taxi ride home wasn't fun at all. It was silent and slow. However, it did give me a chance to calm down and evaluate things.

Maybe it's not as bad as it seems; maybe I misunderstood what was going on. I thought.

Could it have been that I overreacted? All these questions filled my mind. And the answers are nowhere to be found.

I was lost in thoughts as the driver made his way to my apartment. I did nothing but stare outside the window, admiring the city.

In about 20 minutes or so I finally arrived. I got out of the cab and thanked him for the ride before paying the bill.

He happily zoomed off, leaving me in my yard. I walked in but noticed the door was still locked.

Aria must have gone out, I started scavenging my bag in search of the keys. I heard some jingling noises so it must be there. I swiveled my way and finally got it out.

I opened the door and got into the empty house.

"Well, another day wasted," I said to myself.
