"I am sorry to disappoint you, Mrs. Wilson," I said, " James will be asking me to marry him soon and I plan on saying yes to his proposal and neither you nor anyone else can sabotage our happiness,"
"You must think you have a chance at happiness with my son," Mrs. Wilson sneered, "If you came here to see James, then where is he?"
My heartbeat increased as I stood there utterly confused while trying to grasp, "He wasn't aware I would be here, I came here to pay him a surprise visit so it's understandable if he is not here," I replied quickly.
"How stupid of you to think in that shallow way of yours Ellie, my son will never take you as a wife and that is why I believe he is out to pursue someone worth his time," Mrs. Wilson replied in a quick sharp tone.
"What do you mean by that Mrs. Wilson, what is going on, and where is James?" I asked angrily.
"I'm sorry, Ellie," she uttered in a voice filled with no remorse. "But James is getting engaged... to someone else."

　　Immediately after the party was over I took my time to congratulate everyone and hoped they had a good party.


　　Meanwhile, I noticed that Ellie looked tired so I decided to intervene.


　　"Hey Ellie, I hope you enjoyed the party," I asked.


　　"I still can't wrap my head around you two, you guys played a fast one on me, but I appreciate it," she said.


　　"I'm glad you did, you deserved it," I replied.


　　"Anyway, how about I drive you home?" I asked politely, Aria wasn't around so I hoped for the best.


　　"Okay but I'll have to tell Aria first, we came together so I can't ditch her now," she replied and went to get Aria. In due time she called asking we meet outside the venue.


　　I proceeded outside and met with her, she gave me a hug and a peck on the cheeks. "Words can't explain my gratitude, thank you so much for this," she said, we both stared at each other, and after a while Aria coughed.


　　"Sorry folks, but we have to go," she said.
