Evelyn's POV
I finished arranging our stuff inside the trunk of the car and went back inside the hospital to sign some documents before James could be discharged.
"Sign here, ma'am, the nurse in charge of the documentation said, and I put my signature on the required documents.
"And that's all, ma'am, make sure to bring him in for his checkup regularly," the nurse said, and we said our goodbyes.
I went back to the car and sat with James in the back seat. After I had settled in, the driver started the car and drove off.
"Are you excited to be going back home?" I asked with a smile.
"Of course I am. You had no idea how much I hated it there," James said, expressing his frustration.
"Well, I am glad we can return home now, and I am sure everyone is happy to have you back," I replied.
As we made our way home, we talked about different things, and it felt so nice seeing James genuinely happy.
