Evelyn's POV
I sat across from Isabella, my eyes were focused on her as I tried to understand what exactly she was implying and where this conversation was headed.
I didn't even understand her expression, she almost looked expressionless.
"If you're thinking I stole him from you, I—" I began, but she cut me off with a laugh.
"Who said anything about stealing?" she asked, arching a brow. "You were with him seven years ago, weren't you?"
My heart stuttered. Did she know about me and Nathan? Did he tell her about us?
No one had known about our relationship—except for Sophia and Eliza, and I'd lost touch with Eliza after college. Nathan and I had kept it a secret, hidden from my father during college.
I scoffed. "He told you about us?"
Just then, the waiter approached, balancing a tray filled with whatever Isabella had ordered. She smiled warmly at him as he placed the food and drinks before us.
"Here's your bill," he said, holding it out to her.
