Nathan's POV
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Every word Eliza confessed to me left me as cold as ice and speechless.
I was so cold all of a sudden. So freezing cold. Could someone really be that cruel? That conniving? I had trusted her, just as Evelyn had.
For years, I had thought Eliza was a loyal friend, someone who wanted the best for us.
And yet, she had been the one pulling the strings, orchestrating the pain that tore Evelyn and me apart.
I sat there frozen. I had been so blind, so trusting. I never imagined Eliza could do something like this—not to Evelyn, not to me.
She'd betrayed us because of jealousy. Jealousy! It seemed so petty, so small, and yet the devastation it had caused was enormous.
Eliza had told Alpha Sebastian about us, knowing full well the kind of man he was.
She had fed him information, become his spy, all so she could climb a ladder built on lies and manipulation.
