Evelyn's POV
For the first time, I couldn't understand what Caleb was saying. His words felt foreign and strange to my ears, like they belonged to a different world—one I couldn't even begin to comprehend.
He wasn't talking about just anyone; he was talking about my father. My father. The Alpha of Nightshade Pack. Alpha Sebastian Miller.
"What are you saying, Caleb?" Sophia asked. She was as confused as I was as well.
Whatever he was saying just didn't make sense, it didn't make any sense at all.
"Exactly!" I snapped, stepping forward. "Do you even hear yourself? Do you know what you're accusing him of? You could be captured for slandering my father!"
"He's not lying, Evelyn," Eliza said quietly.
I whipped around to face her as I shut her up because I didn't ask for her opinion. No one did.
