CHAPTER 92 I Had Been Sold

  Evelyn's POV

  Nathan was gone.

I couldn't feel him. Ava couldn't catch his scent.

Could Victor be telling the truth?

I felt something sharp flow through my body, like I was being electrocuted. But I refused to let fear take a hold of me.

Victor would say anything—do anything—to have me under his thumb. He'd never accepted my rejection, never let me go. This was just another one of his twisted mind games.

Eliza had come between me and Nathan before, tearing us apart for seven long years. And now, standing here, looking into Victor's smug face, I saw history trying to repeat itself.

  No. Not again.

"I don't believe a single word you're saying, Victor!" I spat, my voice trembling with fear. "You're only lying because you want me back!"

Victor scoffed. "How can I want what's already mine?"
