Evelyn's POV
Eliza looked nothing like the woman I once knew. Time had worn her down in ways I couldn't understand, and seeing her like this unsettled me.
But that wasn't why I was here.
She was the last person I ever expected to see, let alone in this place—the same place Nathan had tracked a lead about the missing omegas.
After she confirmed Nathan had been here, I felt calm a bit. For a moment, my heart felt lighter.
He was fine—at least, he had been okay the last time anyone saw him. But that relief was short-lived when Eliza spoke again.
"What do you mean, 'that's not all?'" I asked, my voice trembling as I began to panic.
"Did something happen to Nathan?"
"No, no," she said quickly, shaking her head.
"Then what is it?" I pressed.
And then it hit me. "Eliza… what are you even doing here? This is the same place Nathan tracked a lead about the pack's missing omegas. Why are you here?"
I stepped closer, "You should come with us."
