CHAPTER 50 Twist

  Avery's POV

The battle had reached a fever pitch, the air thick with tension, the sound of snarling wolves and clashing bodies filling the space around us. The soldiers from both parties had began to fight as well.

It felt like the ground itself was shaking, and yet, I couldn't tear my eyes away from the chaos before me. Dylan and Julian, locked in their fierce standoff, were clearly at their breaking point. I could see the strain in their muscles, the flash of their eyes, both of them trying to outmaneuver the other, but neither willing to give in.

For a moment, I thought it would be the end of it, one of them would break, and the Pack would be torn apart in the aftermath. But just as I began to lose hope, something shifted.

A sound broke through the cacophony of the fight, a roar that was unmistakable.

It wasn't one of their wolves.
