Dylan's POV
The moment I returned to my Pack, I wasted no time.
Avery may be upset with me or even hate me, but she knew deep that that I truly had meant her no harm. And even if she refused to acknowledge it, even if she still saw me as a stranger, I wouldn't let her walk this path alone.
"Has she left the Golden-Ridge Pack today?" I asked without looking up from the reports scattered across my desk.
Caleb, stood across from me, arms crossed. "Not yet. But she's been busy. She's taken over a lot of the mineral trade negotiations herself. Word is, she's tougher than most expected."
I allowed myself a small smirk. Of course she was.
Avery had always been strong, even when she didn't realize it herself.
I leaned back in my chair, tapping my fingers against the wooden surface. "Double the men watching her."
Caleb raised an eyebrow. "You're having her followed everywhere. If she finds out—"
"She won't." My voice was firm. "She doesn't need to know."
