CHAPTER 98 A Promise Too Grand

  Avery's POV

It was morning, and the air, crisp and carrying the scent of pine and damp earth, was a stark contrast to the turmoil that churned within me.

I stood outside the grand villa, the imposing structure that had been both my prison and my sanctuary, watching the Bloodmoon warriors, their faces stoic and impassive, prepare for my departure.

My body was stronger now, the lingering effects of the poison finally receding, thanks in no small part to their healers' diligent care. And yet, there was a weight in my chest, a heaviness in my heart, that I couldn't shake, a sense of unfinished business that tugged at me, making me hesitate, making me question my decision.

What was I doing? Why did I feel so uncertain and uneasy?

Dylan stood a few feet away, his posture relaxed, almost casual, but his eyes… his sharp, penetrating eyes were fixed on me, watching my every move, every subtle shift in my expression.
