Victoria's POV
Caleb's story lingered in my mind long after I stepped into my apartment. Her words carried a weight that settled heavily on my chest, stirring emotions I hadn't dared to name.
For the first time in years, I felt less alone in my pain—less like an isolated casualty of Ethan's betrayal. Caleb's strength and determination sparked something in me. If she could fight back against Lucas Sterling and come out victorious, maybe I could do the same against Ethan.
The next morning, Caleb invited me to her estate for tea. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I found myself agreeing without hesitation. When I arrived, she and Dominic were waiting for me in her study. The room was lined with bookshelves, the scent of aged paper mingling with the faint aroma of Caleb's perfume and the prominent fragrance of sandalwood.
"Victoria," Caleb said warmly, gesturing for me to sit. "Thank you for coming. There's something I think we should discuss further."
