  I sat alone in the dimly lit room, my fingers trembling as I scrolled through the contact list on my phone. My mind buzzed with thoughts of revenge, each one more dangerous than the last. Victoria had crossed a line—daring to meddle in my life, daring to sit with my husband as though she had any claim to him.
