Evelyn's POV
I crossed my arms over my chest and glared at my brother as the boat sailed further away from the land. The smirk on his face said it all and I could feel the frustration bubbling up inside me, threatening to spill over like water heating up in a saucepan.
"Why does he always do this to me? Why do I always fall for his dumb tricks?" I muttered under my breath, shaking my head. This was too much for me to deal with; it was infuriating. Did he not see that I was already so stressed out and now faced with Nolan? Was it so much to be able to respect my boundaries? Simon really thought that he could work his magic and fix everything that had happened between me and Nolan. I felt overwhelmed with annoyance not only at my brother but myself for falling for his ridiculous trick to get me alone with Nolan.
