Nolan's POV
I watched from a short distance as Evelyn left the cottage after a few choice words with her brother, my beta. He looked amused by her; she stormed off.
"I will be at training in one hour," Simon called out as he sensed my presence. A smile stretched across his face as I stepped closer.
"How was she?" I asked, my heart racing. That was all I wanted to know at that moment.
"Isn't that obvious, Alpha?" Simon hesitated and stole a glance over his shoulder as if making sure that Evelyn had gone out of sight.
"Is the child sleeping?" I inquired, concern on my face. I knew that I needed to remain cautious and tread carefully. He was just a child, and I could not burst in demanding to see or know him. It would be difficult for such a young boy to process despite my urge to see him. I was a father, and the thought of it excited me so much.
