Evelyn's POV
I felt the heat of her kind words wash over me, forcing me to pause briefly and consider her request. "You want to help me for real?" I asked, my voice wavered slightly.
"Yes, Evelyn, I do want to help you. I've been watching you lately, and how much you adore that boy is clear. I know you don't want anything bad for our pack. You made a mistake, and I forgive you." Her eyes locked onto mine, and I couldn't deny the sincerity in her tone.
"Ok," I nodded. "Where do we start? Nolan insisted that I stay behind, but I couldn't do it. Ethan needs me, and I can't stand to be away from my child." I sighed sadly.
Cady breathed a sigh of relief at my agreement. She hugged me and gushed about how much she had missed me. I smiled back at her despite the pain of not being with my son. It was nice to have a friend back to support me and be there for me again.
