Evelyn's POV
"You need to take Ethan home, back to Mystic River. I will be okay; just focus on him. Ethan is more important." Griffin said quickly.
"N-no way," I protested. "You fought all these rogues for us, and I can't just leave you. Besides, Ethan wouldn't allow me to do such a heartless thing."
"Griffin is right. We need to get Ethan home and you," Nolan said. "You need to think about what's best for our son. He is our priority. If anyone out here sees him, they will not stop until they have him, especially after what he just did. His powers are rare." Nolan continued to say he reached for me, and as much as my body yearned for him, I still couldn't shake off the nagging to ensure Griffin would be okay.
"Nolan, I can't just leave him here. He needs us." I mumbled to Nolan. I wanted to sink into his arms and satisfy my hunger for him. Even Harper was yearning to be close to his skin and hear his heartbeat.
