CHAPTER 50 Do You Trust Me?

  Eryn POV

It isn't the first time Zach has carried me to bed, but it is the first time that his tears have dripped onto me while he did. He opens my bedroom door, and I peek around. My room looks exactly as it did a year ago. Everything is right where I left it.

Zach sits me on my single-sized bed and drops to his knees beside me. "I didn't know…" he begins. "I mean, I knew, but I didn't know it was that painful."

"It's okay," I whisper. "You couldn't have known unless you have felt the betrayal yourself."

"When I found out, I tried to get him to stop," Zach confides in me. "Things between Kyle and I haven't been the same since."

Atticus is standing in the doorway, silently watching my brother and me. I can see the skepticism in his eyes, but he gives us our moment.

"Thanks," I respond, not knowing what else to say.
