Eryn POV
The wheels of the airplane hit the runway, and my stomach leaps into my throat. My head bounces against the window as I look at the rustic landscape. It is the same as I remember.
I have been gone for thirteen months, and I am not the same doe-eyed girl who boarded the plane for the Academy. I have lost a lot of things over the past year. The biggest of all being my naivety. I won't fall for Kyle's tricks this time. Deep down, I know what kind of person he is, and that's not who I want my mate to be.
Atticus's monstrous head is lying on my shoulder, and he is snoring loudly. Even in first class, he takes up the whole seat. His hand is on my thigh, and I squeeze it gently to wake him. I watch his eyelashes flutter as he wakes up, revealing his beautiful green eyes.
"We are here," I tell him shortly.
"Awesome," he growls.
