CHAPTER 102 Changes Nothing

  Eryn POV

Atticus shuts the door behind him, and only a few moments later, someone is knocking.

"Did you forget something?" I call through the door, but it isn't Atticus who answers me.

"I need to talk to you," Cassie calls back.

The tone of Cassie's voice makes me feel like I am a child who is about to be scolded. Quickly, I answer the door and find her crying on the other side. She thrusts herself into my arms, and I hug her tightly.

Guiding her into the room, I shut the door behind us with my foot. I loosen my arms around her, but she refuses to let me go.

"Cass," I grunt under the force of her hug. "Are you okay?"

"You are mad at me," she sobs into my shoulder.

  "What?"

"I didn't tell you I was pregnant," she continues to cry. "Now you think I was hiding it from you."

"What?" I parrot my previous question.

"I used one of the tests you had left over for fun. I had no idea it would turn positive. Please, can you ever forgive me?" She whimpers.
