Eryn POV
"Eighteen… Nineteen… Twenty…" I shout out. "Ready or not! Here I come."
The preschoolers just woke up from their nap, and we are playing the hide-and-seek game I promised to play if they finally laid down to sleep. Needless to say, the nap wasn't nearly as long as it should have been.
I pretend to tiptoe through the house, and I can hear their little giggles from closets, behind doors, and around corners. "Oh, my Goddess," I say loudly. "Everyone is such good hiders."
Another burst of giggles erupts from behind me, and I spin to see children scurrying down the hall.
"No fair," I call after them. "We are supposed to be playing Hide-and-Seek, not tag."
I chase them down the hall and find myself gasping for air when I grab the first one around the waist. Either I am desperately out of shape, or these kids are uncommonly fast. I tickle his belly while he squirms and squeals in my arms. Then I realize my grave mistake.
