"Dad, you can't be serious!" I could feel the heaviness rise in my chest, as my father explains he has arranged for my hand in marriage. 
"You know why this is a good idea. If the truth comes out, the pack would question your ability to lead; it is for the best." Dad explains as if it is the most natural and simplest solution. 
When I woke up today, this was never a possibility of events that I would be going through. However, here I stand in my father's office while he and my stepmother proceed to explain to me that they have planned my life out for me. 　　As soon as we enter the pavilion, I spot my Dad at his table with Giselle, Uncle Elliot, and his wife,  Auntie Nicole. They are all engaged in conversation, when Alex and I approach the table.


　　Alex pulls me in closer and wraps an arm around my waist, providing support, as I officially introduce my mate to my Dad.


　　"Dad, I know you have already met and had dealings with Alex, but this is my fated mate Alex Winston, Beta of the Sapphire Stone Pack. My wolf and I have already claimed him as our mate, and he has accepted the bond." I explain to my Dad.


　　I look around the table, and everyone seems happy for me, except for Giselle.


　　My Dad extends his hand towards Alex, "I appreciate the way you cared and comforted Kira during her first shift. I know that she is in capable hands. Welcome to our family."
