Elena's POV
I stood at the forefront, my heart pounding in my chest. I was not one to cower in the face of danger, yet the knowledge of the threat looming over my mate and my home sent shivers down my spine. The pack warriors—men and women who had trained tirelessly to protect their own—stood beside me, their expressions fierce and resolute.
"I asked you a question, mutt. What have you done to Alec?" I asked, my hands clenched into tight fists at my sides.
"Well, maybe if you come with us, you can see for yourself. Avoid all the bloodshed that could be the result of your defiance." The rogue smirked as the group behind him growled fiercely, their bloodshot eyes and foaming mouths looking ready to kill on command.
"Alec is more than capable. There is no way he was captured," I whispered to myself, a vow more than a reassurance.
