CHAPTER 20

  Olivia's POV

I sank into the couch, stuffed with pad thai and thoughts of Christopher. Logan's arm draped my shoulders, fingers toying with my hair. On the TV, some mindless reality show droned on, providing a welcome distraction from the guilt gnawing at my insides.

As I was relaxing, my phone buzzed loudly on the coffee table. I jolted, nearly knocking over my half-empty wine glass.

  "Jesus," Logan chuckled. "Jumpy much?"

I grabbed my phone and checked the caller ID. It wasn't Christopher - it was Adam, my brother.

"It's just Adam," I said, standing up.

Logan nodded, already engrossed back in the TV. "Tell him I said hi."

I padded over to the balcony, sliding the door shut behind me. The cool night air hit my face, a welcome relief from the stuffy apartment. I hit accept and pressed the phone to my ear.

  "Hey, Adam! You busy?"

"Just at work, sis. What's up? Everything okay?"
