Olivia's POV
I licked my ice cream cone, savoring the sweet, creamy taste as Logan and I strolled down the street. The evening air was thick with the promise of rain, but the clouds held their peace for now.
"So," Logan said, breaking the comfortable silence between us, "what happened to being busy tonight? You said you couldn't do a nightcap this morning, but here we are."
Shit. I'd forgotten about that.
This morning, I'd brushed off Logan's invitation for a nightcap, not because I was busy, but because I couldn't bear being intimate with him while Christopher dominated my thoughts. The last thing I needed was to moan the wrong name in the heat of the moment. Talk about awkwardness.
I licked my lips, tasting the remnants of vanilla ice cream as I scrambled for an excuse. "Oh, right. About that..." I trailed off, buying time. "My parents were supposed to visit tonight but had to cancel at the last minute. You know how it is with family plans - always changing."
