CHAPTER 99

  Olivia's POV

I stepped into my apartment, the door clicking shut behind me. The silence wrapped around me, a cozy cocoon at odds with my inner turmoil. I kicked off my shoes, not bothering to line them up neatly like usual. Who cared about shoes when your mind was busy replaying every sinful moment with a man who wasn't your boyfriend?

Flopping onto the couch, I let out a dramatic sigh. "What are you doing, Olivia?" I muttered to myself, staring at the ceiling. My body still tingled from Christopher's touch, his words echoing in my ears.

"Damn that man and his... everything," I groaned, covering my face with a throw pillow. But even as I tried to smother the thoughts, images of Christopher's cocky grin and those knowing eyes flashed through my mind.

I sat up abruptly, tossing the pillow aside. "Nope. Not going there. Think about... puppies. Or kittens. Or literally anything else."
