CHAPTER 194

  Olivia's POV

I smoothed my dress as Logan pulled out my chair at our usual Italian spot. The familiar scent of garlic and tomato sauce filled the air, but tonight felt different. Maybe it was the guilt gnawing at my stomach, or maybe it was just hunger.

"So, how've you been, stranger?" Logan's eyes crinkled at the corners as he smiled.

"I'm good! Just, you know, busy with the film." I grabbed a breadstick, more to have something to do with my hands than actual hunger. "The shooting schedule is pretty intense."

"Yeah, I noticed." His tone carried an edge I couldn't ignore. "Feels like I haven't seen you in forever."

I broke the breadstick into tiny pieces. "The movie's going really well, though. Harrison, the director, seems happy with my performance."

"That's great." Logan flagged down the waiter. "I'll have the chicken parm. Liv?"

"Oh, um, just the Caesar salad."

"You always get the lasagna here."
