CHAPTER 34: Kieran's Wisdom

I froze, my body going stiff, and instinctively tried to escape.

But Lucas's arms quickly tightened around me, and his teeth lightly nipped my ear.

"I already have the inspiration. What about you?" His deep voice was laced with seduction.

Lucas was always observant—he must have noticed long ago that my ears were particularly sensitive.

I struggled weakly, trembling as I whispered, "Lucas, no, we can't!"

The rough texture of the bandages on his hand grazed my skin, unravelling my defenses little by little.

He pressed me against the cool surface of the windowsill. The sudden chill sobered me briefly, and I panicked, pushing against him.

  "Lucas, think rationally!"

His voice grew huskier. "Your husband is about to lose it."

I had anticipated this moment; after all, he was a normal man, and it wasn't in his nature to hold back forever.

"But Kieran… Kieran's still outside!" I stammered, desperately trying to find an excuse to stop him.
