CHAPTER 46 It's All His Revenge

The sounds coming from the bugged device were chaotic—arguing voices punctuated by the crash of objects being hurled.

"Get out! Get as far away as possible—I never want to see you again!" Chloe's shrill voice echoed, as sharp as ever. She seemed to have recovered well.

"Chloe, please don't be angry. It's my fault. When you're better, we'll hold another wedding," Daniel's voice was low and pleading, a tone he'd never used with me.

"Another wedding? Do you think everything can just be fixed? Haven't you embarrassed me enough? I carried that baby for months, and now it's gone! Do you have any idea how much pain I've been through?"

"I'm sorry, Chloe. We can have another child," he offered weakly.

Chloe let out a scornful laugh. "With you? Never again. You're useless. I want a divorce!"

"Chloe, please forgive me. I didn't want this to happen."

"Begging won't change anything! I'm telling you—we're getting divorced, and you're done at RGH."
